Capstar (nitenpyram) is a fast-acting flea treatment tablet for use in dogs and cats that starts killing fleas in only 30 minutes. A single dose of Capstar kills 90% of adult fleas within 4 hours for dogs and 6 hours for cats, ridding your pet of these pesky parasites. Capstar is for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens 2 pounds of body weight or greater and 4 weeks of age or older. Capstar may also be used together with other products, including heartworm preventatives, corticosteroids, antibiotics, vaccines, deworming medications, and shampoos. Store at controlled room temperature, between 59 and 77 degrees F (15 – 25 degree C). Re-infestations Capstar kills adult fleas on dogs and cats, offering quick relief for your furry friend. While Capstar works fast to kill adult fleas and alleviate a current infestation, a subsequent preventative solution is recommended to prevent future re-infestations from any existing flea eggs and larvae in the environment. If you notice more fleas have found their way onto your dog or cat in the days following treatment, continue treating your dog or cat with Capstar with up to one dose per day. Really works!
My dog is nine and has never had fleas in her life until this week I spotted a couple crawling around on her. I gave her one of these in a treat and within a couple hours three or four more fell off of her (dead luckily lol). Iâm always nervous giving her a new type of medicine, but she didnât have any side effects at all. Itâs worth noting this only provides 24 hour protection, but that buys you enough time to give them a bath and get everything else washed and cleaned without any stray fleas hitching a ride in the meanwhile. I canât speak to how well this would work if you had a bad flea problem, but definitely amazing if you catch it early.

Quick and effective flea relief for my pup
I’m obsessed with how fast Capstar works! I gave it to my small dog and saw fleas start disappearing in just 30 minutes. It’s super easy to administer and doesn’t make a mess. I feel confident giving it to my pup because it’s safe for small dogs and puppies. Definitely a go-to for quick flea control whenever re-infestations happen.

Quick and Effective
These are a godsend. We were having a huge flea problem and with the help of Capstar and Nexguard, we were able to kick it in the butt. It is just a small white pill and works almost instantly. I usually have to hide my dogs in a piece of bread to trick him into eating it. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the price.

It actually worked for our dogs
Works well and will be purchasing again. We ended up with big flea problem this year. We believe they became immune to the previous products we used. The topical treatment no longer worked. So several sprays of yard and home has definitely had impact, and using CAPSTAR, really does a good job of killing the adult fleas on our dogs (3 dogs, one little, one mid-size and one large). Still trying to find right product for outside, and just retreated the inside and gave the last dose. Fleas are almost entirely gone, so we will purchase one more set.
