Capstar (nitenpyram) is a fast-acting flea treatment tablet for use in dogs and cats that starts killing fleas in only 30 minutes. A single dose of Capstar kills 90% of adult fleas within 4 hours for dogs and 6 hours for cats, ridding your pet of these pesky parasites. Capstar is for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens 2 pounds of body weight or greater and 4 weeks of age or older. While Capstar works fast to kill adult fleas and alleviate a current infestation, a subsequent preventative solution is recommended to prevent future re-infestations from any existing flea eggs and larvae in the environment. If you notice more fleas have found their way onto your dog or cat in the days following treatment, continue treating your dog or cat with Capstar with up to one dose per day. Effective flea treatment for small dogs
This product is easy to use and perfect for small dogs in my experience. My dog doesn’t seem to mind taking it, which is a plus. It starts working quickly, reducing itchiness faster than I expected. The fact that no prescription is needed makes it simple to get. I do wish it had a better flavor, as my dog is a bit picky, but overall it helps with flea issues and keeps my pup comfortable.

Quick and Effective
These are a godsend. We were having a huge flea problem and with the help of Capstar and Nexguard, we were able to kick it in the butt. It is just a small white pill and works almost instantly. I usually have to hide my dogs in a piece of bread to trick him into eating it. It is a bit pricey, but well worth the price.

After a ton of research, capstar has been one of the best items I’ve used to get rid of fleas within the hour. It truly does work and it didn’t give any reactions to my dogs. About a few hours after we gave the medicine to them, we bathed them with flea and tick shampoo and we haven’t seen any fleas since then! Of course they are on a preventative but somehow they got active fleas. BUT this capstar was a lifesaver.

Highly Recommend for breakout infestations
I was first introduced to this product by my vet when I rescued a young puppy that was covered in fleas. Due to the age, the vet administered this and it solved the problem.Over 2 decades later, I turned to Capstar again. Both of my pups are on a flea preventative. Unfortunately, after visiting a friend with an undisclosed flea infestation, we were also fighting a breakout infestation. They were not due for their preventative yet, so we turned to a flea shampoo that claimed to kill all fleas, larvae, eggs within 24 hrs and protect from reinfestation for 7 days. The next day, my dogs were still itching and I was still finding fresh flea dirt on them.Enter Capstar, with overnight delivery, it arrived early the next morning. I administered it and got to work flea combing both dogs – killing another 8 live fleas, and brushing out any existing flea dirt. The dogs were clearly more comfortable all day with far less itching. The next day, I combed through them both again to find no new flea dirt or fleas.Capstar is fantastic for this use case. It works when other products donât, and with the flexibility of administrating daily, it allowed us to quickly and safely handle what couldâve blown into a full flea infestation.

Flea annihilation salvation
I will never be without a box of these again. They do exactly what they say theyâll do! And it helped us finally kick the flea problem we were having! It was our first time EVER in our lives that we had fleas. We threw out bedding, washed kennels, vacuumed every inch of the house, flea treated every OTHER inch of the house, gave dogs multiple baths and re applied topical flea treatments twice. Nothing we did worked until we tried Capstar.
