I use this for my pigeons. I think for them, the peppermint is a little too pronounced, but it’s still a great clean product to have on hand. I’ve used this brand for my dog too, and it’s always great quality. This tincture is definitely worth the premium price – it’s great quality, and with birds, you go through it slowly. I use it both alone and as a part of my own home made mix, along with olive leaf and a few other additions – this mellows out the peppermint as well, which my birdies appreciate.

Helpful when our chickens needed it
Some of our newer chickens developed some respiratory symptoms recently while our neighbors were harvesting corn and soybeans. Don’t know if it was just all the dust and mold in the air of if they had a cold of some sort, (problem started with the show Silkies my daughter got at our State Fair poultry auction first and they were probably caged their whole like before we got them, maybe their natural immunity wasn’t great), but we added this to their water for about a week and it seemed to help them get over whatever it was. I was comfortable using this product because it was herbal, rather than an antibiotic from a vet (as those are often overused and overprescribed resulting in lowered efficacy overall in flocks. I don’t like using an antibiotic unless I know 100% that I am dealing with a bacterial infection, as they don’t work on allergens, fugus or viruses.) We were happy with the results of this herbal remedy for poultry.

Not That Strong Peppermint Scent
I got this expecting to smell a strong peppermint scent. However the scent did indeed disappoint. It was rather weak and smelled rather synthetic. It came in a dark colored bottle with a dropper for easy dispensing, but if the strength and quality of the scent was any indication, I did doubt the nutritional quality of the supplement ingredients.Overall, I do not recommend this bottle of dietary supplement for birds.
