Arrived in great shape
Theese cuttlebones are great! I have a Green Cheek Conure who was going through the smaller ones (3.5″ – 4″) every day. He would chew them up like they were a peppermint candy cane. He wasn’t eating them, just breaking them up and throwing the pieces on the floor of his cage. With the new ones, which are as big as he is, he just nibbles on the edges. The problem is, I accidentally threw away the holder for the larger cuttlebones and the holders I have aren’t large enough. I tried contacting the company but was directed back to Amazon. I couldn’t talk to anyone directly and couldn’t get anything resolved. I made it work though.

So like other reviewers have pointed out, these cuttlebones all have rust in and on them. The metal pieces they stick on and puncture the cuttlebone with leave rust on the inside and outside of the bone. Got these for aquarium snails, though wouldn’t recommend for birds or snails. In fact, the product listing here incorrectly says you can give these to snails and crabs which is not very good advice. If you read the back of the packaging it says these contain copper, which is TOXIC to all invertebrates.I broke a few pieces off of these that didn’t have rust on them and put them in my aquarium. I don’t know if it was because of these, but the next day one of my largest snails was laying on his side withdrawn into his shell and barely moving. Now it looks like he’s very much dead. Not sure if it was because of the cuttlebone, but a very big coincidence that he dies after adding it to the tank. I’ve removed all pieces now, and will not be using these again.

Love these 2nd time getting them sometimes they send bigger ones than listed on the description which I am okay with. I use these for my birds and tortoise. They are the real natural cuttle bone not that fake calcium block type. Wears down beaks and priced calcium of both birds ant tortoise to maintain healthy shape which is what I get them.Video/photo is my from pet page on IG from today when I threw those out for them
