squirrel proof?
this feeder is not really squirrel proof. with a little perseverance the squirrels managed to suck the feeder dry of seed I took it down and it is in my garage. waste of money and seed.

These feeders ARE NOT SQUIRREL PROOF! They are made of metal but do not stop a squirrel from climbing up and feeding out the tray. The squirrel can feast until the seed has run out.

The two levels collapse, so when it arrives, it’s short! It’s very nicely built, all metal, with a very smooth red finish. The perches fold inwards. The bird at the top of the feeder is actually a clip that you can slide up to remove the roof and refill and back down to deter squirrels.It will be a while until I figure out how well it works, but I’ll update. I question if the roof of the feeder is wide enough to keep the rain out of the seed tray. Wet seed is moldy seed.I’ve priced the same feeder in a different color for $10% less, but if you want red, this is red. Depends if a prettier color is worth a couple bucks to you or not. I do like the color and birds tend to be attracted to red. Your call.
