Metal Squirrel Proof Bird Feeders for Outdoors Hanging
squirrel proof and large high capacity
Metal Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder for Outdoors. High quality and durable
The weight mechanism protects the bird feeder. A large bird or squirrel weighing more than 1 pound climbing on the bird feeder is what triggers the mechanism and the feeding ports will close completely
Easy to fill and clean. The bottom can be taken apart for cleaning,so you are don’t worry
Weatherproof. There is no gap for rainwater to flow into the bird feeder, and the bird seed can stay dry forever

Customers say

Customers find the bird feeder well-constructed and functional, with good storage capacity that holds plenty of seed. The squirrel protection receives mixed feedback – while some say it keeps squirrels away, others find it ineffective. The design, assembly, and value for money also get mixed reviews.

Good design for bird seed storage and access.
This feeder has high storage capacity and elimantes waste with its feed access. The birds have to reach into the feeder and consequently scatter less feed. The squirrel prevention mechanism appears to work well too.

Finally a truly squirrel proof feeder!
Best squirrel proof feeder in a long time! I have searched for years to find a feeder for our many feathered friends, and usually end up tossing anything I bought when squirrels destroyed it. This feeder is amazing! Easy to fill and absolutely squirrel proof.

    Nice and Squirrel proof feeder
All metal except for the hopper. Well made and works well. Windy, rainy weather will get the seed wet at the access point but it’s easy to clean .

I see birds visiting which I haven’t seen before
Different birds visit this everyday. Squirrels do come and jump on it, hang on it. Because they shake the feeder, although they cannot eat from the feeder they collect and it the bait from the ground. It’s been two weeks since I installed it, and I think it’s a good product!

Great birdfeeder! Easy to fill and really frustrates the squirrels!
This feeder is the bomb. So much fun to watch it frustrate the squirrels that try to feed from it.

    Worth it!
I really like this feeder. I replaced a tray feeder with this after the squirrels took over the tray. The last straw was when a squirrel sat in it for hours and ate every bit of bird feed. This one arrived quickly and assembled easily, basically just hand screw the perches and lid on. I live in Florida and the starlings quickly found it within a day. By the second day I had bluejays, cardinals, red-winged blackbirds, mourning doves, and titmice added to the mix. The dreaded squirrels found it on day three. It took them another day to figure out how to get to it. I had purchased an extra long deck hook just for the hook part but used a 3/4″ pipe to mount it in the ground away from structures. The only way to get to it was up the pipe (haven’t bought a squirrel guard yet because did’t know if I would need one) and along the hook which they quickly did. They then climbed down the hanging cable, around the lid, and down the clear tube. But when they got to the perches it closed as designed. They spent three more days trying to figure it out even attempting to chew through the metal shield with no success. They finally gave up and now only occasionally come by when they’re feeling spunky but still haven’t cracked the code. My next concern was that they may try to chew through the clear tube since it isn’t wrapped in metal mesh but that hasn’t happened in the three weeks I’ve had it.At one point though the hand nut on the bottom loosened up and the birds starting having trouble getting to the seed as it was closing even under their weight. Once I figured out what had happened I tightened the hand nut and have had no issues since. Lost a few birds over it but I’m sure they will be back again over time. I think that the nut (it is a knurled nut that you tighten by hand) may have been loose on arrival because it hasn’t come loose since. So check that it is tight before using.I read that another reviewer had the bottom fall off but I’m thinking it was because the nut was loose as well. I don’t know that for sure but from his pictures it looks likely to me.

Birds seem to have problems figuring out how to eat out of this feeder.
Birds seem to have problems figuring out how to eat out of this feeder, but deer have no problems getting to the seed. They knocked it off the shepherds hook, but it survived. Other than that it does everything they claim it will do.

    Mixed Feelings
Bought this after a chubby raccoon discovered that it could defeat my Droll Yankees “Flipper” feeder by grabbing the rotating perch and stalling the motor until the battery died. I figure that this feeder might work and it was cheap enough to risk a try. At first glance in seemed OK. By the second day I noted that the shutter ring that closes off the ports was only half open and I attributed this to a too-weak spring. I made an attempt a fixing that by disassembling the base and slightly stretching the compression spring. Don’t know if that is a long-term fix. A slightly more bothersome things is that the design seems not-quite-compatible with sunflower seeds as they do not feed well and that may call for some metal work (not what I desire). Oh, and filling it s a bit clumsy since there is a metal bar across the top opening which means that simply scooping seeds into it causes spillage.Added: sometime last night my clever chubby raccoon apparently discovered how to disassemble the feeder. Even worse (s)he carried off that critical spring but dropped it 20+ feet away where I eventually discovered it. Guess I need to find a way to modify the feeder to prevent a critical screw from being removed too easily.
