Best harness, paws down.
FOUR-YEAR UPDATE: This is the only brand of dog harness I will ever buy or recommend. Three months after my last update, we took in a paralyzed foster terrier when all of the local shelters went into COVID lockdown overnight. That spiraled out of control quickly. Since then weâve fostered more than 30 dogs with intensive care needs, most fully or partially paralyzed from spinal injuries.Very often our fosters need to wear a harness 24/7 for safety, especially newly disabled dogs who need a service human to help navigate their environment. These are so comfortable for round-the-clock wear, even for allergy prone dogs or those with sensitive skin. These also work well in conjunction with the standard Walkinâ Wheels chest harness for dogs that donât like the Walkinâ Warrior harness. I put the Voyager harness on first, then the wheelchair chest strap. Itâs a very snug, comfortable fit that usually keeps everything properly aligned. Most of our fosters are lowriders with some degree of bladder/bowel incontinence, which makes for A LOT of laundry. Itâs very rare that we can use a harness more than 2-3 days in a row without washing. Thereâs almost always a freshly washed load of harnesses hanging to dry, with plenty of clean ones in the bin ready to go. These Voyager harnesses take a relentless licking and just keep ticking.Iâve now purchased more than 50 of these in every size from XS to XL, and even one XXXS for my best friendâs itty bitty kitty whoâs a frequent houseguest. I have yet to find a dog breed under 35 lbs. that canât fit into one of these. Dachshunds, terriers, yorkies, chihuahuas, poodles, poms, maltese, cockers, frenchiesâyou name it, Iâll put a Voyager harness on it.ONE-YEAR UPDATE: These harnesses are INCREDIBLE. Two weeks after my original review, our little man had spinal surgery when he suddenly became paralyzed, then did 10 months of intensive rehab to learn how to walk again. He wore a harness 24/7 for the first few months post-op and still has to wear a harness most of the time now so we can help support his weight as needed. This harness evenly distributes pressure along his sternum and upper ribcage (not his neck or weaker lower ribs) and the lining is soft enough that he’s able to wear it comfortably 16+ hours every day without chafing. I’ve purchased a total of 12 in small and medium, to fit with and without sweaters underneath. He has some mild incontinence issues, so we often have to change his harness once or twice a day and the entire lot gets washed at least 2-3x weekly. The ones I purchased a year ago have held up beautifully even with our intense wash and wear lifestyle. I can’t recommend these enough.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Let me preface this by saying that our doxie was in really bad shape when we rescued him. He was severely emaciated, missing huge patches of fur from prolonged malnutrition and his skin was insanely fragile, especially along his belly and under his front legs. So began the quest for a harness secure enough for a squirrel chaser but soft enough not to tear his skin. After a few false starts, I found this padded harness with faux fur lining. This is the best harness I’ve tried, even among some of the most expensive brands. Most of those brands have some sort of durable nylon material edging along the leg holes, which rubbed against his most fragile skin in the legpit(???)/elbow area. The lining on this harness is SOOOOOOOO soft on his skin and the faux fur edging along the leg holes was exactly what we needed to prevent chafing and tearing in his tender bits. This would be an excellent choice for older dogs or dogs with skin conditions that require softer material in the rubby spots. Originally I purchased two small harnesses, which fit a little loosely over sweaters at 9lbs. Now at 13lbs, the small fits his chest perfectly and a medium fits snugly over sweaters. And it launders beautifully! His gear gets gross so quickly being so close to the ground, I have to wash his sweaters and harnesses at least weekly. I toss these in the washer on a regular cold cycle in lingerie bags, then hang to dry in the bathroom overnight.

Stylish, comfortable, and useful…
Exactly what I was looking for! This is the perfect harness. Benji always likes to wear a little t shirt. With this fluffy harness he can keep it on and it’s very soft. On the flip side of it being soft, it’s also firm enough for the leash and doesn’t feel flimsy at all. He’s always cold and it keeps him warm. I measured around the thick part of his chest and the size was right on the money. I love the little reflectors on each shoulder and matches his new collar perfectly. Get it!

Great fit with room to spare!
Just received this halter today and very happy with its appearance, fit, and ease of use. A great value!This is a very sturdy, apparently comfortable and functional harness. It fits my dog who measures 16.5 inches in the chest exactly as desired with a bit of room to gain a pound or two. I do not see that it is adjustable (except for velcro fasteners) but it is very easy to use. It is a soft and thick step-into, securely snap-on top of back clip that seems quite secure. I like that it has some mesh in the design as it will be cooler in the summer. Yet it fits easily under his plaid winter coat. I cannot speak to any reflective material as it has not been used at night. But we rarely encounter bright car lights on his limited short walks.This halter clips easily onto his leash, even through his red winter coat. So crucial for security though he wears his red collar with ID tags. I am completely satisfied. So glad to have found this brand!

Comfortable, soft and perfect fit
This harness is perfect for our new 4 month old rescue dog. We had purchased a different harness from Petsmart that used Velcro around the chest and neck. It was fine enough for a short while, but she would chew where the D ring was connected on the back and when you walked her, it would stretch the fabric of the harness too much. So I knew I needed a better harness and went looking on Amazon. Sheâs a weird in between size on a lot of other styles, but this one seemed to be the best match. Sheâs 13 pounds and her neck measures 8â and her chest is 15â. I loved the magenta color, which was different than most other pink harnesses out there. The black trim and the quilted magenta fabric are very soft and comfortable. Itâs also a much easier harness to put on her which I love since sheâs a bucking bronco when itâs time to put it on. LOL. The Velcro and clip on the back are very secure and when we walk, itâs not pulling on the harness in a way that I would ever think it would come apart. The double D rings are a little tricky to get hooked up to the leash at first especially when sheâs so excited to go outside. But weâre getting a hang of it and I really like that feature a lot more than a single D ring. It just feels much more secure and I donât fear that sheâs going to slip out of the harness or that itâll fail in any way. Perfect purchase and would definitely recommend. We went with the size Small since her chest measurement was within that range and itâs perfect. A little growing room, but not too loose. Iâm not sure how well the reflectors work since we havenât walked at night yet. I canât imagine theyâre fantastic since theyâre so small, but itâs a nice addition and better than not having any reflectors at all I suppose. Definitely a great purchase and your furry friend will love it.

My dog has several harnesses from this brand so I ordered the same size however this one is just a tad bit too snug. Iâm hoping it will stretch a little with wear. Iâm assuming itâs because of the material. It is a cute harness though.
