Great addition to my boxed turtle habitat
Great new addition for my box turtle! She loves climbing on it and seems to enjoy basking on the top. The cave underneath is a perfect size for her to hide in when she wants to feel secure. The rock feels durable and looks natural in her habitat. My only minor complaint is that the surface is a bit rough, but it’s not a major issue. Overall, it’s a solid, functional piece that’s a great addition to her enclosure. Would recommend it to other turtle owners.

Really nice natural looking hefty hide!
This basking platform which doubles as a hide is actually pretty nice. It might be a little small for larger bearded dragons. It’s built quite well and has some good heft to it. It’ll be difficult to topple over. It doesn’t have sharp edges but it is rough on the outside which is useful for getting off sheds. The main unit feels and looks like rock even though it’s not. It comes with a thicker piece of real slate to pop in the top. The slate will absorb heat to provide some belly warmth. The side is slanted a little so they can climb on top more easily I’m guessing. It’s not slanted enough for most beardies to want to lay upright on that side. Overall a really nice natural looking hide. Doesn’t have any plasticky look or feel to it although I’m sure it’s made out of some kind of resin. Should be fairly easy to clean although because it’s not smooth plastic you’ll probably have to use a scrub brush.

Nice basking platform and hide
I ordered this for my juvenile bearded dragon. He fits on top easily and also inside the hide. The removable slate piece absorbs heat well for basking and makes clean up super easy. This platform has some heft to it. Not terribly heavy, but not easy for a Beardie to move either. No sharp edges. No weird smells. I washed it before using. This is a good looking, enjoyable addition to my Beardies terrarium. Well worth the price point. We definitely recommend this natural looking platform ð

Too hot
This is a great find! I got this for my bearded dragon and Iâm very pleased with it. The sizing is wonderful and my girl loves the little cave underneath. The rocks are painted nicely into a very realistic look. The structure is strong yet very lightweight. The downside, which is what Iâm finding a lot with these is that the slate is almost a black color which holds heat TOO well. Reptiles, berries specifically, needs to be warmed from the top. If thereâs too much heat from the bottom, it could overheat and even burn your beardie before they even realize itâs happening. Using my temperature gun, the slate is too hot even though my air temperature is perfect. Until I can find a better slate to replace this one, Iâve wrapped a cloth around it that I change and clean couple times a week.

love it!
This hide/basking slate is perfect! I got this with the intention of putting it in either my python’s or my leopard gecko’s enclosure. I ended up starting with a ball python to see if they liked it. They do indeed enjoy it. I partially buried it so that the opening would be a little more closed up as they like to feel squished and enclosed. It’s made out of a nice sturdy material, it has no smell on arrival, and the slate top is easy to remove for cleaning. I’m quite pleased and would absolutely buy more for my other reptiles.

The reptile platform is heavy and solid. Color is true to picture and the warming stone on top is removable for cleaning or other needs. This is a perfect size for the average beardy. We ordered as a gift for grandkids’ beloved pet reptile as her platform is old and she could use an upgrade–sure hope their mom thinks so TOO 😉
