Customers say

Customers find the bird feeders pretty, with vibrant colors and three different options, and appreciate their durability, noting they’ve withstood bear visits. The feeders receive positive feedback for bird health, with birds loving them, and customers consider them good value for money. The squirrel resistance and functionality receive mixed reviews – while some say they keep out squirrels and work well, others report that squirrels aren’t deterred and find them ineffective. The size also gets mixed reactions, with some finding them perfect while others say they’re too small.

    Cute little bird feeders
When it comes to bird feeders, you always have to assume that there is no such thing as squirrel proof no matter what the feeder claims. So going beyond that, the birds seem to like them. These are good for birds that can grip onto something, like nuthatches, woodpeckers, chickadees, wrens. Birds like cardinals, finches, and mourning doves, who are perchers, cannot use them. But I knew that going in. These are great for sunflower seeds and peanuts. The pretty colors add a nice touch to my garden. They are relatively sturdy, made of metal and should withstand assaults by squirrels and winter weather. I’ve been using them for a couple months and so far so good.

Colorful and Cute, easy for small birds to use and easy to us to clean and fill
Very colorful and cute, I love how they brighten things up! Birds took to them right away and filling them is super easy. I use sunflower seeds in the shell, one may fall out on its own every now and then but not enough to make a mess so that was a plus. Birds don’t have any problems plucking them out at all. Bigger birds like Mockingbirds or Starlings may try to land on them but they struggle a good bit and don’t have much luck so they’re not too much of a problem. It’s a breeze for smaller birds. I’m not sure that I would hang them out in the elements for extended periods, although they could hold up well enough. I keep mine just under the roof of my deck. They would make a great gift too! I would buy again.

Good Product, but still problem with Squirrels
I like this product and it works well with sunflower seeds and the birds love it. However, the squirrels in my area are a real pain. They found a way to jump from my porch railing and hang on the feeder. If you buy this product be sure nothing is around it.

You may want to try something else
I’m big into bird feeding/watching and have gotten my mother into the hobby as well. We have spent a small fortune on feeders, houses, poles, food, baffles to battle the squirrels, etc. There is so much to figure out and we have both learned a lot by trial and error. I wish I hadn’t bought each of us a set of these colored balls. The picture looked great and the idea is cute, but they simply don’t work well. I see a picture a reviewer left of sunflower seeds falling out making it appear the seed can easily be accessed by the birds, but this simply isn’t true. The “holes” in the wire are not big enough and the birds will opt to dine at a different feeder (one that is easier to use). If you are not going to have other feeders in your yard and are not giving the birds a choice, they will probably use these out of despiration. I wouldn’t feel right about making them work so hard to eat. I have tried sunflower seeds in the shell (maybe I can find smaller ones like in the photo). I have tried saflower seed but it went bad before the birds ate it. Shelled sunflower seeds do work. I have one of the balls filled with shelled sunflower pieces hanging above a platform feeder so any pieces that fall won’t be wasted; the birds like it. The first time I tried this (before the birds became used to it) we had a heavy rain and the seed had to be dumped into the platform feeder before it ruined. Now the birds eat it quick enough that the seed does not get moldy.I believe these could be used as tealight candle holders as another reviewer stated and it is correct that you don’t get a green ball as shown in the photo. I received a bright yellow one instead. If you want a ball that holds sunflowers in the shell, try the “NO NO seed ball” which can be purchased on Amazon. You get one for a little less than the 3 of these colored balls cost, but it is very well made and works. I have two of them and my mother has one… good luck feeding our feathered friends. 🙂

    Second set
Great feeders. This is my second set of these. Bought the originals about 3 years ago. Weather and wildlife have made them look a bit ragged so I’m replacing them. The squirrels have chewed a hole into 2 of them but the wire is very bendy and I was able to fix them quickly. I love watching the little birds on these feeders and they seem to like them very much. I use sunflower seeds and wild bird seed and all seeds work well in these.

    DON’T BUY!!
The feeder is a good size, sturdy and whimsical. HOWEVER, most birds cannot get seeds out as the holes are smaller than the sunflower seeds. I filled the feeder and three weeks later it is still 3/4 full. I wish I could return mine.

I see multiple reports from people dissing this product because they are too lazy or inattentive to read manufacturers statement which clearly says that this feeder is designed for black oil seeds with which they work perfectly.Folks stuff them with all sorts of other seeds–even Nijer seeds and then complain that the feeder either wont work or drops seeds.USE BLACK OIL SEEDS ONLY!!!

A little on the small side but makes up for it in birds not being able to whip the lid off.
