Easy to use
It’s been a huge journey trying to find a toothbrush that fits my cat’s small mouth comfortably. The finger toothbrushes are never a fan of his as they’re huge and can’t reach his back teeth without making him completely open his jaw.I love the extreme ease of use, I can’t say anything about the flavor of the toothpaste but it smells gross, just like pet toothpaste usually does. My cat loves it though!

Maintain oral health
Cat accepts teeth being brushed when being held. I wish it came with more flavor options. In the package it looks a little funky with the fingertip brush being packed on top of the regular toothbrush but it is just a packaging thing. The finger brush and the handled toothbrush are indeed separate from each other. The toothpaste doesn’t have an overpowering smell but as I mentioned wish there was a different flavor option.

Probably great products, but the cat HATES the smell and runs away
We adopted an outdoor cat likely abandoned by the previous owner. We’ve been feeding him outside for almost 2 year (husband will feed anyone or anything that comes to the property) and he’s been coming inside part-time for several month. Took him to the vet to get vaccines and a once-over. Vet said his teeth and gums are in bad shape (he’s gained several pounds in the the last 2 years so it can’t be affecting his eating too badly). I thought trying to brush his teeth would be worthwhile. This product not only has the toothbrush, but the toothpaste as well and at a third of the price of most other cat toothbrushes. Unfortunately, the cat seems to actively dislike the toothpaste – just on smell. It’s only been a couple of days, but he runs away whenever the toothpaste is introduced near enough for him to smell. Doing identical things with just a finger and he’s fine – put toothpaste on the finger (as suggested by a vet to ease into the process) is a big NOPE from the cat. We haven’t gotten up to using the toothbrush yet as there are other things that are more urgent. I’m sure if your cat isn’t repelled by the smell it would work great.

I was afraid my cat was having an allergic reaction
I don’t want to trash Arm & Hammer, they make great products… for humans. Maybe not so much for cats. I tried this twice on my cat. The first time he freaked out worse than I’ve ever seen him. Frothing at the mouth, spitting saliva, snapping his mouth. This managed to turn my ultra-calm and patient cat into a scared and upset beast.I tried again the next day, this time just putting some on the toothbrush and having him smell it. Same reaction. I had used another brand of toothpaste (malt flavored) for him for years now and he doesn’t mind it at all. I can brush all his teeth and he even licks the brush afterward. But he had such a disgusted, visceral reaction.I was concerned it was an allergic reaction, but after reading the reviews this seems to be a common reaction from most cats. Even the 5-star reviews mention how much the cat hates it (but it works!). Please, don’t torture your pets friends. I can’t recommend this product. Buy something else. Even if it works at presenting dental disease and getting your feline’s teeth cleaned you’re putting them through way more trauma than they deserve. I threw away the entire tube after two attempted uses and won’t be purchasing again.

Hard to administer at first…
The first time I stuck the brush in my cat’s mouth, I thought he was going to eat me alive (hint: trim their claws before brushing teeth). 13 stitches later, I tried it again and he gave in and took it like his spirit had been broken. And don’t even bother trying to use the finger-thimble thing…way too big for most cat’s mouths…unless they have a head the size of a cantaloupe, then it might fit.The good: fresh breath and clean teeth, and now he doesn’t fight me anymore.The bad: 13 stitches gained and a quart of blood lost.The ugly: just kidding about the stitches and blood, I did get clawed but once he tasted it there was no more fight, he seems to like it.

Cats didnât like taste
I wouldnât be able to tell you if the product works or not because my cats did not like the taste of it at all. My cats both clenched their teeth when I attempted to brush them and I left the toothpaste out on a dish so they could become interested in it – they werenât interested. I ended up giving it to a local âbuy nothingâ group. Iâve seen other people post that they are giving away the product since because it did not work for their cat. I have no idea if itâs the original one I donated or if they were also unlucky enough to buy the item and it didnât work.
