Deployed in a 150 gallon tank. Other heaters freeze over time. The controls on this are out of the tank and digital. Keeps tank at +/- 2 degrees. Works great.

Nice Aquarium Heater
I bought this aquarium heat for my small outdoor pond. It’s working well for now, it’s easy to set up. When it is out of the water, the heater has an alarm. It’s an excellent product, I recommend it.

Efficient and easy to use.
Great heater, easy to use. It is a little wider than anticipated but works well so far. Mine is in a 50 gallon freshwater tank, placed sideways near heavy water flow. I get even heating this way.

Painfully stupid design
I don’t know what took over me when I got this heater. I started to play with it, unplugged of course, just playing with it in my hands absentmindedly. One of my fingers managed to go in the slot on the front of the unit and got stuck. Yes, it got stuck! Well, I couldn’t just pull it out either because of the fact that the back of the slot is SHARP like a damn blade. Unfortunately, I had no choice. I had to cut my finger on two sides in order to remove it from this stupid slot. I have a rule, and it’s simple: if a product hurts me in any way, automatic 1 star review. I don’t care if your product is the greatest thing since sliced milk, it shouldn’t hurt someone AT ALL. Highly recommend avoiding this heater. Can’t imagine what would happen to a curious fish!

Does the job impressively well
This heater definitely does the job of heating the water; my pond heater had gone out and this heater did a great job of defrosting the pond after it iced over. The lowest setting is 65 degrees Fahrenheit so I decided not to keep it in the pond, but it definitely proved itself to be a good aquarium heater for our 60 gallon fish tank. I really like the digital thermometer; so many aquarium heaters Iâve used in the past rely on a dial to set temperature and there is a lot of trial and error in getting the temperature set just right. It can actually be dangerous with other heaters because if you are not checking very regularly you can overheat the water. The temperature of this heater is so effectively controlled by the thermostat that I can rest easy that the aquarium is going to stay safe for the animals and habitat within.
