Durable. Effective. Use Filter Sponge to prefilter.
Material is very well made. Holds up well under continued cleanings (at least 10 in both applications). Used in a DIY pond filter and my indoor sump for 150gal. My experience is layering course and fine sponge filter over top to prevent this layer from clogging too fast. I think some of the people having issue are using this as their sole filter which is not best practice.I have been using the same piece of filter for about 18 months, cleaned it about 10 times using a hose under high pressure. if you spray the high pressure hose in-between the layers it will separate. If you wring it out like an ape it will separate. If you pinch the white side and green side and pull them apart. They. Will. Separate. Basically use your brain and dont clean it like a wild animal and you will be fine.

Great filter
Ive been using this stuff for 5+ years all my tanks mostly in my HOBs. Itâs Easy to use and super customizable. Other people mention that the material clogs up too fast and then leaves a bad review on it but thats just user error on their part. Wrong placement inside the filter or wrong product application is what I see on most bad reviews. This material is meant for water polishing so itâs suppose to be super fine. clogging is inevitable that just means itâs working and pulling particulate out of your tank, but As far as how fast it clogs up its usually wrong placement inside your filter. It should be in last place in your mechanical filtration behind your course and fine sponges, not the bulk of it.Its also not suppose to last forever, ring it out and reuse it maybe once or twice depending on how a bad it is but yes Just throw it out and replace it thats why we have a wholeRoll!Tip: if you peel carefully you can peel super thin layers off both the white and green sides kind of like stickynotes! I peel about half of the layers on the green side sometimes all of it because in my opinion its too dense and thereâs too much thats not needed since the white side is fine enough. You can save it for other applications

Good Product
Product arrived well wrapped. I needed it for another purpose other than an aquarium and I am hoping it will do the trick. I am using it for a pool filter in my robotic pool cleaner. Hopefully it will do the job for me. It was easy to cut to the size I need to fit the filter holder, and the quality of the product seems to be very good. the thickness was perfect for my use.

Aquarium water filtering material
I have ordered this filter material twice now. Our aquarium is a 75 gallon tank now holding 10 large goldfish. The tank has 2- 40 to 60 filter units on the back with this material this material can be cut to size to fit behind each return flow (not sure what else to call them). I clean these filters 2 or 3 times before needing to replace them. Along with this material I use cut out pieces of a activated carbon media pad. With or without the filter material works well.

It’s extremely fine
It’s so fine, I definitely recommend a course floss before this one. That said, it is great for filtering my Fluval Evo. I just change about 3 square inches of it it every week and my water is crystal clear.

ok but would not order again for turtle filter/pump media “cut-to-size” replacement
This was advertised as a suitable replacement for turtle filter media. It works but not well. It’s difficult to cut-to-size and it compresses underwater, over time so it doesn’t have the same absorption. It did save a good pct. of money but just not worth it to me.
