Sponge filter uses bubbles of air from an external air pump, or an integral water pump to draw water through the sponge.

New design: quarter-cylinder shape increases the surface area to get a better water and oxygen exchange rate. It also make the filter easy to hide in the corner of a tank
Sponge filter provide both mechanical and bio filtration, also, the air infusion chamber produces minute bubbles which increase the oxygen solubility
Safe for fish: soft sponge material, traps floating debris and won’t suck up your fish, excellent for small size fish like betta, dwarf cichlid, guppy, killifish etc., or for hatcheries, maternity tanks, and fry tanks, as the filter produces minimal current and has almost no way to suck the fish through the filter
Easy to set up & clean: simply install an airline into the unit and turn on the air pump, simply rinse and squeeze sponge in tank water
Recommend tank size: up to 10 gallon; Dimension: 2.25″Lx2.25″Wx5.00″H
Customers say
Customers find the sponge filter works well in shrimp tanks and is perfect for 10-gallon tanks, with high-quality foam construction and good value for money. The filter receives mixed feedback regarding its floatability, with some saying it doesn’t sink while others note it tends to float. Customers disagree on the bubble size, with some praising the huge bubbles while others find the output not the best. The weight is also a point of contention, with some appreciating the good weight while others find the bottom weight inadequate.

Best for small tanks!
This sponge filter is PERFECT for smaller tanks!! I have had it in a 3 gallon betta tank, and now have one in his upgraded 6 gallon. Since it’s a short and stout sponge, it’s easy to hide with plants and hardscape! Works great at keeping the tank clear and clean, and doesn’t make much noise on top of that. Would 100% get again.

Great Old School Filter for the Money
This was my second purchase of this filter. I already had three up and running in the fish room. The filter works great. The height adjustable and direction tube are super for controlling flow in the aquarium. One nice trick is to adjust the tube to just above the waterline. This breaks up the surface of the water and is much quieter. Highly recommend this filter for people running multiple aquariums on the same air system.

Bubbles Galore… After a Small Wrestling Match
âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ 4/5 â “Bubbles Galore… After a Small Wrestling Match”Pros:The bubble flow? Chefâs kiss. My fish are living their best spa-day lives.Super quiet. I was prepared for a bubbling symphony, but it hums like a zen master.Great filtration for a budget-friendly setup. Waterâs clear, fish are happy, I feel accomplished.Cons:No directions. Like… nothing. Just me, the filter, and a lot of confused googling. It floats like itâs auditioning to be buoy. Thank you google for encouraging me to squeeze it to help it sink.Sits in the corner like itâs being punished. Slightly bulky and a bit of an eyesore if you’re going for aesthetic vibes.Final Thoughts:Despite the rocky start (literallyâit needed rocks to stay down), this filter gets the job done. I docked a star for the floaty drama and lack of instructions, but Iâd still recommend it to fellow fish parents.ðð¨

Low-profile sponge filter.
Every aquarist knows that there’s no such thing as too much filtration. That being said, there’s only so much space in a 10 gallon aquarium for extra filtration. This corner sponge filter is perfect for my 10 gallon tank. It fits in a back corner and oxygenated as well as filtering.

Ok
I looked at measurements prior to purchase but this is much larger than what I had expected. Since itâs 1/4 cylinder and fits in corner it only works on the one side. 40 Gph will work for a 4 gallon tank and it is way too big to fit. The only reason I purchased it was to add additional oxygen to my tank temporarily while fighting a hair algae issue but an air stone wonât work with it!! So that was useless. Also there is no place for adding other filter medium. A small round one would work as well and be much less obtrusive.
