Decent value for your money, the quality is good. There is also ample room to add a small charcoal bag filter either before or after the main filter. Exceeds expectations.

Cleaning is important
Iâve used this particular aquarium filter for years and when it stopped working, I bought another to replace it. This next one didnât last very long at all. Thinking I had just received a âlemonâ, I ordered another. Again, it worked great at first, but only worked for a couple of months before the water flow was almost nonexistent. I followed the instructions and cleaned the impeller. Still, nothing. I decided that I had to be missing something so I began examining the impeller housing a little more closely. I found that not only does the impeller area collect impurities, but the tube area above the impeller does also. There are slits in the plastic tube above the impeller housing where things can collect and block the flow of water. After removing this blockage, the filter worked like new! So, the problem really isnât with the filter. The problem is that the instructions only go so far as to tell you to clean the impeller, but not the area above it. As a side noteâ¦I use polyester fiberfill in a small corner filter and it was those tiny fibers that I found to be wrapped up in the impeller and also blocking the slits. Itâs a great filter if cleaned properly!

Terrible!
This filter is the worst! Itâs noisy and difficult to clean. For the first year I had a rubber band holding it together. Then I needed a wadded up paper towel between the wall and filter to quell the racket it made. Then even the paper towel didnât work. It hummed and rattled so loud I could hear it downstairs with the door closed! Today after not even two years since purchasing it I pitched it and got another brand. Iâm 72 years old and have had aquariums since I was 5. Never had problems with any filter and they all lasted several years. No need for two filter pads for a ten gallon aquarium. If you do water changes once a month or so and donât over feed you wonât need two filter pads. Just another way to rip you off. If you decide to purchase this filter only use one filter.

Very disappointed in noise level
After trying 3 different filters on my 36 gallon tank, I came across this 30-60 gallon Aqua Tech with amazing reviews. Even with it being a little more expensive than I have paid in the past, I thought I had found what I was looking for. Pkg came on time, very easy set up, put it in the tank and plugged it in….the hum was so much louder than I ever thought it would be. I even checked the impeller as the directions call for, made sure it was set properly on the tank, filled the tank to the very top and it still has a very loud hum. It works like a charm – suggestions on how to make it quieter? Hate to waste this money and go back to my Whisper, but I may have to.

It is REALLY QUIET! Not kidding
Easiest and quietest machine ever!Thank you , very happy..the only thing is that it uses FILTER SIZE 3 and my older one was using a filter #2I hope that it last as long as my old one !

Broke within less than 3 months of use
Worked great at first. Within a month it started acting up. It has been less than three months and it totally stopped working. It is clean and not jammed. Very disappointed, I do not recommend

Very happy with the operation and its long life.
This is the second filter of this same brand and size. I finally replaced the old filter after 4 years that was still running but really dirty. This one should run just as long. Easy to replace filters and clean. Not loud like others

Después de 2 filtros anteriores que no duraron ni un año, encontré este. Es un excelente filtro, de muy fácil ensamble e instalación y los reemplazos se consiguen muy fácilmente. Mantiene el agua de mi acuario ( 30L ) en perfectas condiciones por meses!
