Works like a charm on my son’s rat cage
My son has pet rats. Yeah, I know, rats. They are actually pretty cool, and are a lot like very small dogs and he has taught them lots of tricks. But the one trick the rats cannot learn is to keep their cage clean. After a week there is rat poop and seed husks everywhere. And the poop can stick to the cage and become difficult to remove without a lot of scrubbing.I tried this Amazing small animal cleaner because it described an enzymatic approach to cleaning. You pretty much just clear out the animals and everything in the cage, then spray on this cleaner and wait about 5-10 minutes. It breaks down the organic matter and makes it a breeze to clean up with a cloth or damp rag.The pros:1) It works exactly like it is advertised. The cage cleaning task is MUCH easier with this cleaner.2) The product is advertised as safe for pets and I can confirm that the pet rats did not seem to have any reaction after we had cleaned and rinsed the cage.3) There is no strong odors from the cleaner itself.4) There is plenty of fluid in the bottle to clean the cage plenty of times. I would estimate that on my son’s large cage, he could do maybe 20 cleanings with a single bottle. So the cost per cleaning is pretty low.The less-than-perfect1) As the product website describes, the cleaner makes it easy to remove stuff if you leave it on – they describe 3-5 minutes, but we had better results after 5-10 minutes. But I won’t quibble about a few minutes, cuz’ before this cleaner, it practically took a hammer and chisel to remove the “rat stuff” that was stuck on.2) Also as the bottle directions describe, you need to rinse the cleaner off the cage after it has done its job or it will leave streaks. We just wiped the cage with clean water and a paper towel, so not a big deal.So overall, I think this is a terrific product and I would have no hesitation to recommend it or to buy it again!

Cleaner Works Very Well but Spray Bottle Doesn’t Dispense
I first tried this cage cleaner on my Roborovski hamster’s cage, and it worked well, although this breed produces little liquid and fecal waste. Nevertheless, I was impressed with the lack of residue and streaking on clear, glossy surfaces within my hamster’s habitat. The biggest test of the product’s cleaning ability came when I applied it to the bottom bars of my parrot’s cage. I’m not exaggerating when I say bird droppings dry like concrete and are very difficult to remove. I sprayed the cage bars and waited about five minutes before wiping. The product loosened the debris and made quick work of wiping the bars clean. The cleaner left a pleasant floral scent that wasn’t overly strong. It was made in the USA, which I like because it supports American workers. I am sold on this cage cleaning product.On the other hand, using the product’s spray bottle was frustrating. The spray nozzle doesn’t work, period. I spent quite a bit of time trying to fix it, but I was unsuccessful. When I squeezed the nozzle’s trigger, liquid leaked from the threaded cap that connects the nozzle to the bottle. I had to postpone using the cage cleaner until I could locate a working spray bottle. Once my Windex sprayer was empty, I washed it, and I poured the cage cleaning liquid into it. I hope the product manufacturer works closely with its bottling partner to produce or locate a spray bottle that actually works. The faulty spray bottle is the reason I deducted one star from my product rating.In summary, I love the product but not its dispensing bottle. I appreciate having had the opportunity to test it and to experience its outstanding cleaning performance.

Very good cleaner!
If you have small animals, this is exactly what you need! I have had small animals for most of my life. I own chinchillas now and I have had them for over twenty years. Most of the time I have resorted to cleaning their cages with a concoction that I made that includes vinegar and dish detergent. The worst part about that was the scent. This has no bad lingering scent. It still neutralizes the urine odor. I like that this is versatile enough to be used on all of the surfaces that are in their cages. I use marble tiles in their cages that can need to be scrubbed sometimes, but they are very easy to clean with this. I don’t need to let it soak in to any surface before cleaning it. I love that this has natural ingredients, so I don’t have to worry about it being toxic. I had to cut the intake tube to fit, but other than that, I have had no problems with this product. I’m not sure, but that may not be necessary. The spray and the stream features work well and it can be stored in an off position. This cleaner is made in the USA, and it works well, so I would recommend this to anyone!

Works Well
I currently have 6 chicks in a large plastic tote/brooder bin and they poop a LOT. I have paper towels lining the bottom and bedding on top of that, but it still gets pretty nasty after a couple days. I removed all the paper towels and bedding and sprayed the bin with this small animal cage cleaner. I let sit for about 5 minutes and then cleaned it out with clean paper towels. The smell was somewhat neutral, not super chemically or citrus or anything. It cleaned the residual chick poo great.The smell from the chicks was instantly gone, and the next day it still smelled fine!One annoying thing – the sprayer does not work well. I had to have the bottle perfectly upright for it to spray without making that choking spray bottle noise. I will probably transfer it to a new bottle before using again.
