Alkaline buffer? is a non-phosphate buffer to raise pH and buffer with acid buffer?. These buffers are designed for the planted aquarium or for very hard water where phosphate buffers may pose an algae or cloudiness problem. Alkaline buffer? raises pH and buffers between 7.2 and 8.5. It is gentle, safe, and enhances the freshwater environment. Contains sodium, POTASSIUM, magnesium, and other bicarbonate salts. Directions: use 1 level measure (enclosed) to every 4?L (1 gallon*) daily until desired pH is reached (this dose will raise alkalinity by about 0.5 meq/L (1.4 dKH). if water is soft or not well buffered, use with acid buffer? (see below). hints: Alkaline buffer? will not lower ph. It may be added directly to the aquarium at any time. It preferentially buffers at pH 7.8, but can manage any pH between 7.2 and 8.5 when used with acid buffer?. if using with ro or di water for a water change, then use with acid buffer? at a fixed ratio (see chart) to set the desired ph. Once pH is set add water change water to aquarium as soon as possible to avoid pH fluctuations (for best results, base ratio on weight): (acidbuf: acidbuf-ph) (1 : 0.5-5.0)(1 : 1.0-6.0) (1 : 1.3-6.5) (1 : 2.0-7.0) (1 : 2.5-7.5) (1 : 4.0-8.0)I70 G / 2.5 oz. (treats 2650 L (700 us gallons)

    Good product
Does what it’s supposed to do. Over the course of several months, I’ve only had to use it a couple of times, and a little goes a long way. Haven’t noticed any difference in fish behavior. Or snails or shrimp, so definitely fish/invert safe. The water was cloudy but went away within 24 hours. Boosted my ph, which was sitting at a steady 6.4 no matter how many water changes I did (tap water ph reads at 8.8) and it’s stayed at a steady 7.4. Easy to use with the directions and suggested quantities on the label. I suppose you could eyeball it but I have some sensitive species so I went ahead and used a scale for precise measurements. Overall recommend

It works good! Easy safe fix for alk parameter.
This works great. I put it in and saw a change in the alkalinity very soon after. Let it sit and was able to out my fish in the next day since it fixed that water parameter. Definitely a necessity for setting up your aquarium or treating new water to ensure fish survival. My fish have been healthy since I used it over a week ago. And I haven’t had to add any more since then so it lasts for at least a week and will update on the longevity of it.

    This works :0
So I’m currently cycling a tank and everything was doing fine, until I noticed that my ph, carbonate, as well as alkalinity levels were severely low. So, I bought this. I was a little skeptical about it but as soon as I treated my water with it, I already knew I made the right decision. First off, it doesn’t make the water cloudy, which I really love. Secondly, it works really fast. These two photos were taken just A DAY apart, and it’s crazy to see how much my levels have risen. Now, I did recognize that I have added too much, so I will do a water change and put in some more buffer after I do that, just not as much. Again, I’m very satisfied with the results, and if you’re questioning whether or not you should buy this, I recommend going full speed ahead and getting it. You won’t regret it 🙂

    Does its job..
I would have have a 5 star however it doesn’t come with anything to measure it with. It should at least come with that. It does its job just have to monitor closley

Great product – learn how to use it in a manner that is healthful for your fish & aquariums.
I trust Seachem products. This did what I needed to keep the pH balanced in an aquarium that I was cycling, where the pH kept dropping daily. STIFF LEARNING CURVE to use ANY pH regulating product correctly without harming your fish. If you are using any of these products with fish – under dose to change the pH very very very slowly – pH readings go up (or down) in multiples of 10 TIMES the previous number. This can be stressful and fatal to fish if done radically, since their body’s electrolyte balance equalizes with that of their environment. CHANGE PH CAREFULLY, APPROPRIATELY, & GRADUALLY. If you are using this every water change, learn what dosage will give the aquarium water a stable & appropriate pH for your particular fish. Keep things stable and healthy. This is a helpful tool, but you’ll have to understand and learn how to use it correctly. (For RO water – Equilibrium will dose calcium & magnesium & other minerals, which your fish need, raising the GH & the pH. It’s also good for plants. Same dosing principle applies – SLOWLY, CAREFULLY, and keep it STABLE.). Get expert help to know what is best for your fishes’ environment!
