Enhances Aquarium Water Conditions – Indian Almond Leaves naturally condition water by releasing beneficial compounds, creating an environment that supports the health of bettas, shrimp, guppies, and other fish. These leaves help maintain a balanced ecosystem in freshwater tanks by gradually breaking down and promoting a stable pH level for aquatic life.
Supports Natural Breeding Behavior – These floating leaves serve as an anchor for bubble nests, making them ideal for breeding bettas, tetras, guppies, mollies, and cichlids. They provide a natural surface for egg-laying fish and shrimp to attach their eggs, simulating their native habitat and encouraging a stress-free breeding process in home aquariums.
Provides Benefits for Various Fish & Invertebrates – These leaves contribute to a tea-colored aquarium environment that can help calm and enhance the natural colors of fish such as discus, rasboras, and dwarf cichlids. Snail keepers also find these leaves useful, as they create a more natural aquatic setting that supports shell strength and overall health for aquatic invertebrates.
Convenient Small-Sized Leaves for Controlled Use – Each pack contains 80 Catappa leaves, sized upto 4”, making them easy to portion for different tank sizes. The smaller leaves allow gradual introduction into tanks, especially for smaller fish and shrimp. These leaves break down at a steady rate, ensuring long-lasting benefits without overwhelming the tank environment.
Adds a Natural Aesthetic to Tanks & Bowls – These unprocessed Indian Almond Leaves blend seamlessly into nano tanks, small fish bowls, and betta jars, enhancing their appearance with a natural, rustic look. They can be used in planted tanks for additional organic material, helping to create an authentic aquatic setup that mimics a natural freshwater habitat.

Introduced smaller proportions to allow my sorority of bettas to adjustâ¦
This pack of 80 Dried Indian Almond Leaves from the Tender Tropicals Store is an easy option to enhance water condition for your beta tank. I introduced these slowly and at a smaller portion so that my sorority of female bettas can have a chance to adapt to the changes. No negative issues observed. Yes, anticipate change in water color. These were packaged well.. Follow the direction of running through water far a little bit before adding to your tank.

I bought these dried leaves hoping to improve
I bought these dried leaves hoping to improve my aquarium environment, but it turned out to be a complete disaster. As soon as I opened the package, I noticed a very strong and unpleasant smell, but I decided to give them a try anyway. Unfortunately, the day after I added them to the tank, my entire ecosystem died â fish, plants, everything. It was a heartbreaking and frustrating experience. I would not recommend this product to anyone who cares about the health of their aquarium

Quality is hit and miss
I initially ordered these cattapa leaves for the quantity-to-value aspect. Basically, the most leaves for the least hit to the wallet. But what I’ve found was that the quality of some of the leaves is very lacking – and somewhat concerning. Some leaves look fine, and function alright in my tank. I’ve got these in my black worm tank and they do not seem to mind them. Before using these leaves, I generally look them over really closely and toss out any that have mold-looking spots (like the leaf I’ve included in my photo) or leaves that are so deteriorated on their own that they’re already breaking apart pretty badly (like burnt bacon falls apart). And, I’ll rinse the ones I choose to use really good before putting them in my tank. I’ve only had to pull a few out of my tank because they deteriorated incredibly fast (over the course of 2-3 days) and that had me concerned as with other brands, I’ve had about 2-3 months of slow deterioration in a tank. That said, I don’t think that I’ll use this brand again. I’ve also purchased the bigger leaves and had the same mixed result. At the rate I toss out every other to every third leaf, I’d have been better off going with a better quality company. See photos attached for size comparison of this smaller leaf to their larger leaf.

As good as any I’ve bought
You receive a large amount of leave with this. Since my shrimp tank are typically 10 gallons or less I appreciate the fact that the leaves includes in this package are smaller, about the size of my palm. I have ordered some before that were absolutely huge and that I literally had to cut down. Anyway, my shrimp are happy with these and they look good in the tank.

My fish seem happy – no issues
I added a few of these leaves to my tank before noticing some of the negative reviews. By then it was too late to second guess â but Iâm glad I went ahead! I have four angelfish and a sucker fish (name escapes me ð ), and theyâre all growing and thriving with no signs of irritation or harm.I havenât seen any eggs laid on the leaves yet, but Iâm hopeful that time will tell. For now, the leaves seem perfectly safe in my setup and add a nice natural touch and color to the tank.Definitely a good value, especially considering how well theyâre working so far.
