Read carefully, but great value for money!
We own a large, 9 lbs, 7 year old female cat and bought an 8-pack of these about 6 months ago. She loves them and uses them constantly (like, ALOT). We use about one a month, and gave one to our daughter, who’s two cats also love them (so I am ordering more after writing this review). Let me tell you the negatives first, and then explain why they don’t matter. These are thinner (1 inch vs 1.5-2 inch typically used by other brands), about an inch smaller on all sides than your typical brands, they don’t come with a “box” to use them in, and the cardboard they use is slightly softer than some brands use. Now at first you might be tempted to dismiss this product because you think this is a negative review. It’s not and you SHOULD buy these, they are a good value. Here’s why – the thinner size doesn’t matter because the cats are only scratching as deep as their claws (and our cat hasn’t come even close to clawing thru one of these, even though she’s pretty aggressive on these and we flip them to use both sides before replacing them). The smaller dimensions and no box are not an issue because we just throw ours right on the floor as is – our cat sits on it (as if it were in a box) and uses it just fine. We had cut the bottom off of the shipping box to use with the pad the first time, but our cat couldn’t have cared less and it was a pain to get the used pad out to replace it, so now we don’t bother with it. (Honestly, I doubt your cat will care if there’s a box or not, either.) The slightly softer cardboard these are made of (compared to the brand we were using before) means our cat uses one of these a month instead of one every two months; but the other brand was $15 for ONE (with a cute box to hold it) and these pads come in an 8-pack for $20. (You do the math!) One little side note… each pad comes with a tiny little packet of catnip (it’s just a pinch worth).

Cheap and work OK
I have a lot of fosters and these thin cheap ones are good to give away when the fosters get adopted. If you get some aggressive cats, they can break these like in my picture. Also won’t work well on hardwood, I had to place a small carpet underneath for grip. Overall, for the price they are fine so giving them 4 stars.

Our cats love these! They last a lot longer than any other cardboard scratcher weâve tried. They serve our 9 rescue cats very well at a decent price.

I should have known they would be small and low quality from the price. My cats still enjoyed them but they donât last nearly as long as the larger ones.

Stick with what works!
They are only about an inch thick, but they do the trick. Our cats tear them up and make good use of them. (So does our puppy if she gets a hold of one ð¤£) We have 2 cats and seem to last about 3-4 months. I keep two down at all times for practicality. I do flip them over, but it will only last so long before it’s destroyed. (Better this than our furniture) Definitely would repurchase and recommend.

We’ve had similar products before and my cat has never taken to destroying the actual box. I sweep up her mess and by the time I’ve put the broom away she’s made another mess!I’m not sure if there’s something in the cardboard but she is determined to actually destroy the box not just scratch the bottom like usual.
