Great Alternative.
My cat has been scratching my wood post so I figured I would give this a try. The previous reviews did not help. I found product simple to use but depending on where you will be using it might need an additional hand to help. Backing is a bit difficult to take off after a piece is cut but if you get a piece of tape and apply it to a corner it peels right off. This was also great because it came with additional sticky pads to reinforce area. I used them to be sure. It also came with upholstery tacks. Short video and picture attached. I must say it is a very good alternative to having to replace damaged wood.

Spruced Up Used Scratching Post
This revitalized a *very* well used carpeted scratching post. One of my kitties is quite the particular girl, and prefers carpeted scratching posts over sisal rope. She’s gone through 3 of them in the 2.5 years I’ve had her. This sticky carpet roll is the perfect solution to replacing the scratching post with a new one each time it wears out.I removed the old carpeting from the cardboard tubing, cut the carpet roll to size to wrap around (I did overlap some), used the extra sticky double-sided stickers on the corners, and then for extra security, I used a staple gun to ensure they don’t peel. Honestly, the back side of the carpet roll was quite sticky alone and secured to the cardboard tubing easily. I haven’t tried it on other surfaces, so I don’t know how well it sticks to them. I may place it on the back side of my couch where another kitty likes to scratch after using the litter box. I’ll use the included securing pins to keep it in place if I do.

Good quality material
So far, it seems sturdy. Heavy rug type material, easy to apply. I used the sticky on the back for now. Time will tell if it lasts or if I will need use the extra sticky pads that came with.Update: 8/2/25- Sticky tape does not stick to vinyl or material similar. May have to use the sticky pads and little cork screws that came with it. Still worth it if I can get it to stick.

Great product. I moved with my two cats. To an RV. No cat towers. They adjusted better than I expected and I think partly because of their unfettered access to the scratch pad. I put it on the back side of the island and on a panel going up the stairs. When you find claws in them, you’ve succeeded.

A good purchase for cats
I purchased this carpet because one of my cats started scratching at my basement door. I didn’t want her to start leaving scratch marks so I quickly bought the roll of carpet and put it on my basement door. Now it has actually become a very useful and playful addition. The cat is able to use it as an extra scratching post if she wants and she can climb up the door using the carpet for fun. When she climbs up the door, we now call her spider-cat:)

Ok when it sticks
Helpful to a degree but lose their stickiness making it an attractive item for 2 naughty cats to play with instead of deter.
