Extremely Accurate and perfect size for plants!
I have some plants that I moved to new location on a new stand which I reviewed. My plants are mostly Philodendron and Monstra’s and a 50+ year old Christmas Cactus. I was going to get a small humidifier as I wasn’t sure the plants sitting on humidity trays were getting enough humidity, so before going that route I decided to get humidity monitors for each of my plants because the addition of humidity they didn’t need could be harmful. I have a whole house humidity monitor but this shows around plants the microclimate can be significantly different and that could be good or bad for your plants depending on their needs.So I set monitors right on the humidity tray or on the plant surface and noticed they all were within a very small percentage of each other from one location to another and the humidity was considerably higher then I expected. I did start moving them around to see if they would change as the Christmas Cactus is lower then surrounding plants and it could be the pot is more substantial then the others limiting the exposed water in the humidity tray. So I did an experiment, I took 2 monitors labeled A for my Monstra Standleyana Albo and B for my Christmas cactus as those were the closest two monitors with the largest difference. I labeled the monitors with Capitol letters to indicate where they originated from and small case letter to show they moved I took and switched monitors A and B. Monitor A went from 80% to 70% where monitor B measured it at 70%. Monitor B went from 70% to 80% matching monitor A. This show the accuracy of these monitors and how much difference the microclimates are between plants even relatively close to each other.. It also shows how spot on accurate these monitors are and how fast they adjust. I moved others around with the results be exactly what the previous monitored showed.Now I don’t need a humidifier and can keep track of the humidity knowing it’s correct which is important in having healthy growing plants.These actually saved me from getting a small humidifier introducing humidity my plants do not need more of. I have a considerable investment in my plants that isn’t just monetary value but time and this very small investment I believe is vital to knowing if your plant is comfortable where it sitsThere is one con to them and that’s when I opened the box every monitor was active, there was no plastic to pull to activate the batteries inside. So how long have they been using up the batteries inside? How long before I have to buy new batteries? I’ll still leave it at 5 stars because the trust I have in them and that translates to knowing my plants are in an environment they are comfortable with. Reason humidity is so important to these plants and many like them is when the new leaves unfurl if there isn’t enough moisture in the air the leaves can stick and crack as they open up so misting is important but knowing is critical and these you can trust to be deadly accurate.When they did come out of the box they all were within 1% of each other so that’s close enough for my comfort. The red and blue arrows indicate where A and B monitors were and where they moved

Dang!!! Pretty consistent and accurate for the price!!!
Okay, I was a little bit leary of these small hygrometer/thermometers due to their low price. They are not NASA-grade I can assure you, but I think for most people they will do. As you can see they are all measuring consistently the same relative humidity and the temperature readings are all within a decimal point or two of each other.This next “thing” puzzles me, though. I put all the meters in a tupperware container with a 62% humidity packet and let it sit for 48+ hours. When I came back to it there was a zero to two-percent difference between a few of the meters. Whereas on the top of the desk they were all reading the same once they were in a sealed container with a known humidity percentage their readings varied. I mean, we’re talking only a very few percentage points difference but yet they did change from being identical. Weird.Anyhow, for the price and pretty fair precision that they have I think these would be good for most anything a regular guy/gal would be wanting to use them for. And, for less than a buck and a half each it’s kind of a no-brainer. It still amazes me how things this technical and precise can be made and sold so cheaply…As has been noted by another user, these appear to have been made to fit into some type of…”something”. There are mounting lips on the edges that would basically snap the unit into a cut-out in a sheetmetal case/box of some sort.

These do the job just fine..
Despite some negative reviews( starting to disregard many as outliers that just don’t know, or expect too much) these are fine.I bought 12 .. all the units are working( no D.O.A., dead batteries, or off the scale inaccuracies) 11 of 12 are within a couple % points of each other regarding humidity, 1 reads 9 to 10 points heavy in humidity.. consistently..so I marked it +10 with a sharpie.. with regard to temp all report within an acceptable range of whatever the ambient happens to be+/- 2 degrees. Sure there are really accurate versions of this product for 10x the cost per unit..12 pcs for less than $20.. these are perfect for my application.
