Shedding brush worked moderately well.
I have a brush similar to this one that works super well on my dogs and horses and I wanted to get more so I can keep some at home and at the barn. This brush is slightly different then the one I previously purchased and I didnât get the same results but their coats are different now then when I used a similar brush. The wood surface is nicely sanded and finished. The metal shedding portion is well attached and looks solid.I think the cost is reasonable. It might just depend on if your animals coat works well with this brush.

Awesome brush for deshedding undercoats
One of my cats has an extremely thick undercoat and is basically always shedding and this shedding brush did AWESOME at getting hair out of her undercoat. Iâve used brushes in this style on horses too and Iâm glad I found one thatâs a bit smaller for felines (and definitely would be a good size for dogs too). Itâs easy to hold in my hand and very easy to use, just use short strokes and you can go over the same bit of fur several times without it hurting your pet. She was LOVING getting brushed by it, sheâs had some dry skin and itchiness recently from the hair situation (we have 5 other brushes but none were getting the hair from her undercoat and she was miserable). Now her coat feels so much betterâ nice and soft and not itchy anymore (and now Iâm not COVERED in hair when I pick her up, lol). It doesnât âtrapâ hair like slicker typed brushes do so be prepared to vacuum or sweep afterwards, lol â definitely worth it though! I just brush until I get a ton of hair and then scoop the clumps off of her and throw in the trash can. This brush works soooo well and I wish Iâd found one this size sooner! My very hairy cat gives this shedding brush 2 paws up =^,^=

Nice short version
I have a longer, different brand of this tool, and itâs just too long for some places on my small dog. This shorter one works better for legs, especially inside of the legs. You just want to be careful on delicate skin to not push too hard because when I tried it on my arm I did get some small scratches.

Sharp blade, works good just start out slow and careful
My first thought was, this shedding tool is pretty sharp. I was concerned it might hurt my Golden Retrievers skin but .she liked it. She has her summer coat and tends to get very itchy from pollen this time of year. The tool is pretty agressive on her summer fur but being itchy she really like it. I discovered that she had a fair amount of dry skin and/or shampoo residue and this shedding tool was very helpful to scrape it off her skin. I took some hair off but she doesn’t have any under coat right now so I don’t know if it will work for that. I have brushes that work well to remove thick undercoat and I think this will be more of a finishing tool.I also have horses. The blade is very similar to a metal curry comb. I think it will work similar but it is only 4″ wide so it won’t be very efficient. It seems sturdy, it fits in my hand comfortably and it is another tool to add to my grooming kit. I think you need a good undercoat brush and a regular brush in addition to this shedding tool.

It works but not as well as hoped
I have a Great Pyrenees puppy I used this on. It does pull out the fluffy baby hair well but it seemed to grab her hair while doing it. She wasnât a fan of it because it pulled on her hair.Overall it does shed the undercoat out but I donât know how comfortable it is to a puppy. An adult dog would be okay with it probably.I honestly get more hair out with an undercoat brush. I really wanted to like this and have wanted to try one for ages. Just not that impressed with it for a dog.

Nice Size
Shedding season is now upon us. My geldings have started shedding their summer coats. This hand sized shedding tool works well to remove excess fur and dirt from their coats. The size makes it perfect for my hands. It is easy to grip the tool and go to work. My geldings actually lean into getting groomed when I use this.Since this came in a pack of two, I can keep one in my tack box and one in my trailer. Perfect for when I’m hauling, but don’t want to move all the grooming supplies.Overall, I love this tool and highly recommend.

Doesnât work as well as other brand
I thought these would be a reasonably priced alternative to the name brand brush. This brush has much bigger, more widely spaced teeth. I tried it on our husky and our lab mix, and it took very little hair of either, as opposed to the name brand one, which removed much more hair.

Lovely tool, works well on horses
Gorgeous piece of 8″ wood is more a work of art than a tool! It has lovely wood grain and the finish is smooth and fits into the hand so comfortably. The blade seems secure in the wood and is not flexible at all but very stiff. I tried this on my horses (although it is Summer and not much excess hair) and it works very nicely on the body (obviously you wouldn’t use it on the legs), doesn’t seem to bother them and much easier to use because it is so comfortable in hand than most of the curry brushes I have ever had.I also tried it on my Border Collie mix who has some longer coat around his shoulders than the rest of his body and this was not as easy to use on him, it tended to grab the long hairs and skip over the shorter. Used on my short coated Chiweenie and although it did work I find a fine tooth (flea) comb works best on her coat, this was just too big/bulky to use on her little body. I also used it on my short haired cat with the same results as the Chiweenie, just too bulky and stiff to work.
