Exactly what it is supposed to be.
Worked perfectly honestly had some reservations but it keeps dirt from going into the water section and allows water to pass freely

Good use for bio and non bioactive
This is in a 30g tank that holds a kingsnake. I have it as the base between the glass and the substrate. It gives me peace of mind to have this there so that there is a slight space between the heating pad and the snake. I prefer a carpet because it makes it easier to pick up and clean any messes as opposed to scrubbing the glass. I know this is meant for a bioactive terrarium but I really like it for my purposes. It’s not too thick to not be able to heat up with the heating pad, and it functions perfectly for that. The price point is very reasonable, and I appreciate that it comes in three separate pieces so that it can go in different areas as needed. My tank is more of a triangle so I always have to customize the floor and walls for it. Having it in strips makes it much easier to fix the size and shape of my tank.

Not impressed
Overpriced Landscape fabric. I am not a fan of when some companies will take generic stuff and cut it up and toss a new label on it to try and market it off as something else. All this is is landscape fabric that’s been cut down. I don’t see anything special about it in comparison to what I can get much cheaper at the hardware store.

This is basically a root block cloth that is cut to size.
I am not very crazy about this product. It feels like the material that banners are made out of. While I can say it will definitely hold your substrate and contain it, I feel like it also is so dense that it will not work for a lot of people. Primarily because it is so dense that I don’t think plants will be able to root through it and get to the water in the bottom, which is what a lot of bioactive people want. The functionality is there if you don’t mind the density. The quality is well, about the same as any flag or banner you would buy for your home/room. But as you can see from the picture it is basically a fabric square that has been cut to size. For me personally, I feel like the price is a bit high for what you are actually getting.Overall, I feel like this is the type of product that will work for its purpose. But I do not really see any reason I would choose this over a lot of other products out there. For $10 I can buy a durable screen that would do the same function and get just as many, or even more, cuts out of it. I have used Helidrago products before and most of them are great. I just feel like this one misses that mark.

Thin fabric but should do the job
The mats appear to be of good quality and sized for smaller tanks. This looks like it will hold up and certainly works better than cutting a piece of wire mesh screening.

great for potted plants as well
I use this as a barrier for my indoor potted plants – rocks for drainage underneath at the bottom, and soil on top, so there aren’t little bits of soil that come out when I water them. It was thicker than most substrate barriers but that does not seem to impede water flow at all, still has very good drainage. trims to size very easily, and with it being a thicker fabric it doesn’t fray or anything cutting it.

Good Value Reptile Mat
I bought this for my turtle tank and it works well. Itâs easy to cut to size and doesnât fray. It does stain if you donât clean it quickly, but overall very practical.
