Pitch the sand
This arrives safely packed. It is thick glass for the size and there was no leaking. Set up was a breeze, and I initially used it for some freshwater pest snails, but it is currently holding a betta while his tank is being reworked.Some things I’m not crazy about . . . the light doesn’t do the job if you’re trying to grow plants. Even low-light plants that I can grow on my desk without a light struggled. I think perhaps the thick acrylic lid somehow blocked the light. The filter that is provided is small and basically silent. It has a “skimmer” which I’m honestly not sure does anything, the water just falls over the top.To make this more usable I upgraded the filter and changed the light.I would suggest throwing away the “sand”. I rinsed mine for well over an hour, and it continued to put off an orange cast. It has the feel of grains of clay used in plant pots, but it just keeps tinting the water. Even today after a water change and 3 months running, the water quickly turned orange. Not brown like tanins from wood, but an orange color. I am going to pull the sand out and replace it with a different substrate.I do appreciate the value and quality. The tank is definitely more stylish and at home in a public spot than the plastic options that are in the same price range.

Starts to leak donât waste your money or time
The tank started to leak after 40 days. The return window of 30 days isnât sufficient time to truly test out the tank as you first had the cycle tank and then add the fish. Donât spend your money on this bad quality product.

Im really surprised with how much i like this little tank.the glass is surprisingly good for the price, it seems similar to my ultra clear class in some of my high end tanks (although the corners use black silicone, so you dont get the full effect of high quality glass front on). the back glass is black, so no worries about paint chipping off over time, or needing to replace a background. the cover is pretty good. it sits on top and has cutouts for the included components (light and filter). it hind of forces you into a particular placement, but you could always just not use the cover, you would just need to add water more frequently.the included sand and rocks are great for the size of the tank. i typically like bigger rocks in my tanks, but because of the size of this tank you dont want to lose a ton of space to the rocks. colours of the rock and sand are very accurate in the product photos.the light is more of a spot light, it works if your planning on doing more of an island (central point) style tank, and seems to be keeping low tech plants alive. it definitely wouldn’t be able to handle a higher tech carpeting plant,but i wouldn’t expect it to for the price.the filter is nice for the size. its a mini hang on back, and comes with an intake sponge to prevent small/baby/delicate animals from getting sucked in.the main issue with this tank (and all tanks this small) is the limited amount of fish you can keep in it. you should technically keep bettas in a slightly bigger tank, but lets be realistic, this is significantly better than what 95% of people keep bettas in. it also makes a great dedicated shrimp tank. shrimp have a tiny bio-load, so you can put a small colony of cherry shrimp in here, and let them reproduce freely. shrimp are way more interesting in a dedicated tank when they dont have any fish they need to hide from.

This is a great kit for starting out on an aqautic adventure.Neat, strong and well made tank, black back screen to show off the fish and items in the tank.There’s bag of gravel and a random shaped rock for decoration.A cover that sits on top of 3 clips that you hook onto the tank top edges.A clip on tank led light with differing white coloured light that shines into the centre of the tank.A water pump and filter unit that has a couple of assembly options, for straight filtering, filtering and top of water skimming are the two options I could make out as the instructions aren’t ever so helful when compared to the bits supplied. We did manage a basic filter option. Will hunt out the others.The filter hangs outside the tank for easy access and cleaning when the time arrives.Great starter kit for your entry into fish keeping.

L’ensemble est arrivé en parfait état et pourtant, c’était pas gagné.L’article est arrivé dans un carton amazon sans la mention fragile. Heureusement l’aquarium était très bien emballé. plusieurs couches de mousse et un carton plutot solide.Pas de fuite à déplorer pour le moment.Dans l’aquarium se trouvait le sable, des roches plutot petites, les cales pour le couvercle , le couvercle ( arrivé rayé ), la lumière ( dont la focale est trop petite et qui chauffe beaucoup) , la pompe trop puissante, l’eau qui retombe creuse le sable ( et qui a des prises d’air et qu’il faut longuement amorcer ) + un sac pour les poissons.Cet aquarium destiné à ne recevoir que des plantes sera surement du plus bel effet.Pour le prix je dis donc oui, cet achat est une affaire si l’on considère que seul l’aquarium et le sable sont de qualité.

Build of the main Tank is Glass and appears well made. Other components are OK with some being on the slightly cheaper side but only to be expected at this price pointSo what do you get for your money? Kit consists of pretty much everything you may need to get you started, Filter, LED light, secure hood/lid, 1kg substrate sand, and random black volcanic rocks. A basic system yes but pretty good nonetheless.Another thing I like about this set up is the way the back of the tank is painted black, really shows the Fish / Aquarium at its best.All in all I have to say I was impressed with this small but fully featured Aquarium set up. Quality in the main is good and the price of just £42.99 (July 25) makes it excellent VFM.
