Very handy test kit
I purchased this water testing kit to check the quality of my water after the installation of a water softener and RO system. The results were what I would have expected, with the RO water basically looking like the bottled water, and the softener water exhibiting way less hardness than the city water. The hardness results correlated well with the results I got from a titration type hardness test kit.I really like the completeness of this kit which includes a nice tall test tube type sample container and a waterproof color chart for comparing to the wet test strips. I also appreciate that the test strips are divided into ten individually sealed packages to extend the shelf life of the test kit. Overall, I think this test kit is a very simple and handy way to test your water, and the results seem to be accurate as far as I was able tell from the different sources I tested.

Ok for coarse detection, insufficient for lead safety
Easy to use, lots of test strips. Was interested to test for lead given some local work done by the municipality in that regard, but the test is really too coarse for that, skipping from 0 mg per liter to 20 mg per liter on the readout, but where the recommended threshold for safety is < 3 mg per liter. So really kind of useless for that, apart from giving you a heads up that you may have extraordinarily high/dangerous lead. Bottom line, a decent test kit for massive bad news about lead, but not a test that can rule out that you have unsafe levels.

Good test well put together
The product testing seem will put together each one of the packets contain a single test or multiple test so you have a lot of different packets if you wanna do the whole set. However, all that makes sense because you have a lot of test that it does you canât get it all on one stick and some stick and might interfere with another stick accuracy. So theyâve done it correctly. Monitor test not reveal anything unusual or a problem, which is a good thing. But from other people up here does seem like theyâve had good success with it so Iâll give it five stars.

âOldâ Kit, Inaccurate Results, No Thanks to FB!
I just received this kit two days ago. I noticed that the expiration date is 14Mar26, which was not noted in the product details of the Amazon iOS app. I was curious about it so I checked the manufacturerâs website, and it states that consumers should expect a two-year shelf life for these kits, and only 90 days for the individual strips once each packet has been opened. My kit will expire one year and five months from receipt instead of the two years I should be able to expect. Is that a manufacturerâs problem or Amazonâs problem?And take a look at the two different charts enclosed in the kit. One is part of a leaflet of information, and the other is a âwaterproofâ sticker. You can see the two charts side by side and again with the wet test strip between them. Most of the color blocks in the test parameters are somewhat clear enough to measure within the chart, and between the two charts, to be able to accurately compare them to the test strip. Some of the color blocks, however, are ambiguous to the point that making an accurate comparison is impossible. Iâve contacted my local water office with questions about our water re to the questionable parameters. One that I know is terribly inaccurate is hardness. Our water is extremely hard, just by using several easy-to-discern metrics like staining, spotting, laundering performance, etc. The test strip, however, shows that our water is at the lowest level re hardness. There are other parameters that look questionable, too.Finally, in order to be able to access âYOUR FREE E-BOOKâ, you must install Facebook/Messenger. No, thanks. This is an easy return.

I just completed my first series of tests against my municipal tap water. I live in a city that has notoriously hard water, and aside from a touch of chlorine (expected), the strips also picked up traces of sulfates, nitrite, and rated it as medium-high hardness, with a very high carbonate level (actually, it showed as the maximum amount registered by that particular test).I then ran the same tests on water I had processed with an extremely thorough water filtration unit, and I could see that pretty all all the chlorine, minerals and carbonate were now removed. Showing the 0 amount on all the tests. So that tells me two things. First, I know the strips are working to measure what’s in my water besides basic H2O. Second, it also tells me that my water filtration system is working as advertised. What I don’t know is how accurate the actual PPM ratings are for the various chemicals and minerals, and to be fair, I’m lesser concerned with that as I am now able to remove them.My belief is that this is a good investment if you’re trying to come to grips with the quality of your drinking water. The tests themselves are very easy to perform, and running the full series took me less than half an hour…. and that’s two full sets of tests… one set on my tap water, and the second set on my filtered tap water.One thing to point out, and certainly not a show stopper in any regard. When you open the package, you’ll find a business card that gives you a QR code to scan to get access to a free e-book. That QR code doesn’t really work… it just takes you to the company’s Messenger account. However, from that, you’ll be able to find their corporate website, and when you go there at the very bottom of the homepage you’ll see a link to access your free e-book. Now this is where you’ll run into a second bit of a snag. They want you to select the product you purchased so that you get the e-book that’s made specific to your test kit. You click on that, enter your email address, and they email you a link to the .pdf.Okay, that’s good. The downside is that they only list their 16-in-1 kit, and that’s the only .pdf you can access for the drinking water test kit. It goes through in detail what each of the tests is looking for and why it’s important. Its a really good document. I’ve pointed this out to them, and they contacted me and provided me with the .pdf for the 18-in-1 test kit, so now I know the document is available. If you order this package, just reach out to the seller here on Amazon and they’ll provide you with the correct document for your test kit by email. They may get this fixed on their official website, so by the time you read this review, it may well be a moot point.Would I recommend? Absolutely, YES.

I previously reviewed these as not working but found after doing further tests that they were functioning as expected; Just a surprise that 3 separately filtered/non-filtered sources were resulting in the same! After taking the tests to my family’s farm; we did find varied results that were correct. My apologies for any inconvenience!The seller offerred a full refund, which I’ve declined to take up based on this new information.
