Good for scratches but now there’s a different issue
*****Revised to say they are working with me on supplying a one sided tape that they said isn’t as appealing to cats that like to eat it. I will try it and review it then. The company is being very accommodating. They have also assured me the plastic is non toxic. It still makes me nervous, thus the 3 stars.It works well against scratching. The cat that was scratching my furniture isn’t doing it now, but my other cat keeps eating the plastic. She’s able to rip it off and there are bite marks all over it. I’m going to have to find a different method.

Works kinda sorta
I bought these to keep my new kitten off my headboard b/c he keeps jumping up on it then playing with my curtains and sometimes scratching my headboard.Well this seem to have startled him. I wish I had the video when he first jumped on it, but he came as I was still putting them on. It startled him so he didn’t know what to do.When he tried again he just kind of kept trying to step on it and then remove his paws. He finally did get over it to my window, so it works and then again it doesn’t b/c he still dealt with it to get to the window, although I must say, he hasn’t really tried to get back up there since the first day which was 2 days ago 9/12/25.I do hate that it has also deterred my adult cat from jumping on my headboard, b/c I didnât mind her sitting up there, b/c she wouldn’t scratch she just sat there chilling out. But all in all is good, less cat hair to clean from there..lol

Made my cat want to eat it wouldnât stop until took it off
Nope Iâm not sure what is on this stuff but my cat wouldnât stop chewing and licking it none stop until she was trying to eat it from the very start I thought maybe it had cat nip on it ended up taken it off canât risk my cat getting sick from none stop licking and chewing thereâs something on it that just drives her crazy I wouldnât recommend this because of that she wants the glue they are using on this it just drives her nuts she canât get enough of it thatâs not good

Save your house and sanity. Get this.
I have an 8 week old kitten and this is saving my house and my sanity. I have placed this on counters, furniture, and around plants and she is deathly afraid of it. I have noticed she has stopped being curious about those areas and I think I will actually be able to remove this altogether soon!

Our cat was REALLY attracted to our new couch. She started wanting to scratch the vertical surfaces within 20 min of installing it in the livingroom. We covered the couch in blankets and ordered the double sided stickers. Sticker application was a breeze. Barely noticeable compared to covering our sofa in blankets. We cut several pannels to fit the front of the sofa. We also applied Claw Caps to her front paws in combination with sticky panels all around the new sofa (see photos). Its been 10 days and so far she is not attempting to scratch the couch anymore. At this point we are not sure which of the 2 deterrents is the most effective, but we are happy that so far the combination it working effectively. Luckily she wasn’t attracted to scratching the seat cushions so we didn’t have to apply stickers there…she still joins us on the couch for TV time. Our plan is to remove stickers after aroud 30 day to see if she has been “trained” to stay away from vertical couch surfacesð¤. Definitely worth a try if you are hesitating to purchase. Hope this review helps someone.

Even though it’s cheap, I’m only giving it two stars. The tape is extremely sticky and tends to peel off easily once it’s on the couch. It’s also made of some kind of double-layer adhesive that rips when you try to remove it, leaving small pieces stuck to the fabric. On softer or wool couches, it’s even harder to peel off without damaging the surface. It’s okay for the price, but definitely not ideal.

My roommate recently brought two cats into our apartment. We bought this to help train them away from the couch. Anytime they scratch, i put a small piece over that area and redirect them to a scratch post. They absolutely HATE the sticky texture, so they are quite easily deterred. Itâs been about 3 weeks, and they are routinely using the scratch post and not even trying to scratch the couch. I would recommend a test strip if your couch is fluffy; if left on too long it might pull out some fluff with it. I find the best way to remove it is to pull out so the plastic stretches as you hold the furniture material down.

My sofa is a corded fabric & although the protective tape is very sticky, it will still peel off and you can’t leave the paper on the outside after sticking one side to the sofa as it will peel off, so both sides of the sticky tape need to be removed & then you have a sticky side out that will adhere to anything that it touches. The tape is a good idea but wish I had kept looking for only sticky on one side!!
