Quality Information!
Iâve always s been cautious about these newer LED uvb lights, but wanted to give this one a try. Now immediately I noticed the information on the box and was impressed with the Information it gave. It specificly says to never use those cheap uv cards to test with, as they will not show you if a lamp emits uvb, the vital wavelength and they absolutely correct! You need a specific meter, and it even mentions this multiple times throughout the information! Unfortunately I do not own one at this time, but it really gives me confidence that this does what it says, with such quality factual Information on the box and in the instructions.I also think it’s cool how it has multiple dimming settings and a timer! The light looks good and it’s small and easy to place. I hope one day soon I can get the meter and really test it, but for now I believe it does what it says!

Iâm using this UVB reptile light for my bearded dragon, & itâs been working great so far! The brightness levels & lighting modes make it really easy to adjust depending on the time of day,& I love that it has built-in timer options for 4, 8, or 12 hours so super convenient for keeping a consistent schedule. The light itself feels sturdy & well-made, and itâs held up very well with daily use. My beardie seems happy, active, & healthy under it. Overall, itâs a solid, reliable lamp thatâs perfect for desert reptiles, definitely worth it!

Reasonable option
Pros:- the information contained in the manual is very helpful, including the instructions for the light, and also placement, why the different wavelengths are important, etc. Reminders are important!- includes two small spring-hangers to attach it to screening- power cord can be detached without having to go into the aquarium- controls are far enough down the cord to have outside of the aquarium, as well, for minimal disturbance- 4 levels of brightness (not 5 as described; “off” doesn’t count)- it does appear to be durable; I can’t really comment on lifespan as I’ve only had it a few weeks- different settings for UVB+UVA, UVB+LED, or UVA+UVB+LED- timer option for 4, 8, or 12 hours, or leave it on continuously- will “remember” timer setting and turn itself on for the set hours at the same time the next day, unless power is interrupted- timer setting has indicator light so that you know which one is in effectCons:- listed as having 5 brightness settings. To me, not a big deal, YMMV- no option to use one setting for day, and another for night, unless you do so manually- I do question whether I am using the intended setting, because you just cycle through on a single button and there are no indicator lights for which setting is current. I do not want to look directly into the fixture to verify, as that is bad for the eyes. With two different settings that both have LEDs, I’d just feel more confident if it had indicators or separate buttons. The other buttons are intuitive/have indicators.- the part of this that is most likely to need replacing is the hanging screen hooks. IMO they are quite delicate and so I wish that there were replacements included. Install carefully, because if you happen to break one during installation, you’ll have an immediate errand to doGood to know:There is less heat from this lamp than with others that I have used, as indicated in the product description. If there is a power interruption, you must manually re-do the settings that you want. There is no indicator or beep warning, so it may be best to attach this task to similar ones (whatever else may need to be re-set, such as a stove clock, etc). The housing DOES get too hot to touch. If you have anyone in the household who may go up and touch the screen, then be aware of this, as this heat source is right up against the screen. Price-wise, this is currently at $40 and that seems to be standard for these UV lamps. I hope that this helps with your decision. Do let me know, and happy shopping!

Decent UVB/A option for reptiles.
I put this light on one of my smaller enclosures, and it seems to be working well. The light itself is fairly low profile and seems to be well made. There is a two piece power cord with an in-line switch that houses all of the different lighting options. At first, I wasn’t happy with the diffuser on the light. However, I found that it easily slides out by taking off one of the end caps. The light does get a little warm to the touch, but I didn’t find it affected the ambient temperatures in the enclosure.I really like all of the options this light has. I am a big fan of the included timer. It makes plugging things in a lot easier when you have multiple enclosures. It can be set for 4, 8, or 12 hours which works well for my needs. I also like that the light intensity can be adjusted to suit the reptile. The different lighting modes are also a nice addition. I do wish there was a way to see what mode the light was in, along with the brightness, without looking at the bulbs. However, I rarely change the settings once I set a light up, so that is a very minor inconvenience.Overall, I have been happy with the light. It is a decent value considering all of the features that are included.

I put this 12-Inch UVB Reptile Light over my anole enclosure, and it’s been a solid addition. The light provides both UVB and UVA, which is crucial for anoles to metabolize calcium and maintain healthy bones. The 12W bulb offers a good balanceânot too intense, but sufficient for their needs.The timer feature is convenient, allowing me to set it for 4, 8, or 12 hours, mimicking natural daylight cycles. The three lighting modes and five brightness levels give flexibility to adjust the environment to my anoles’ preferences. The build quality feels sturdy.One consideration is that the light doesn’t produce heat, so it’s best used in combination with a separate heat source to maintain the proper temperature gradient in the enclosure.Overall, for anole lizards, this UVB light offers the necessary spectrum and features to support their health and well-being.
