Nice horse starter kit
This is a very nice set up for a new horse owner as it has all the essentials you would need to help maintain your horses condition. (Or a seasoned horse owner who might like to have a backup set to leave in your horse trailer.) I picked the Pink Garnet color and I love the bag with its’ insulated interior that would fit a bucket or use to put other items such as fly boots, hoof boots or even your own riding boots! The pockets are great to organize all your horsey stuff. This would be especially nice for someone who boards and wants to carry their items from home to stable.The grooming items are entry level with most being a plastic/resin base. The bristles seem to be of a nylon type but worked well on my horse when I used them. I especially like the “hinged” brush that “molds” to your hand and the horses body as you are brushing, it has a nice comfortable strap for over the back of your hand. I like this type of horse pick best but it is obviously not of a hardened metal as it bent when I was using it to get into a hard area of my horses hoof. But it still held together (and I pushed the blade back) and it would give a newbie a good idea if they would like this type of pick (or good to use when hooves are soft and not hardened from hot Summers). The rubber curry is sturdy and works well and also has a cloth handle for back of the hand. The mane/tail comb and brush should give serviceable use . I didn’t use the bathing equipment but they look substantial for what they will do. Although I don’t band my horses mane I thought white was the wrong choice for most horses, black or brown would have been better.All in all I think this is a very good value for all the pieces including the tote bag, especially if you are starting from scratch. I think it would make a great gift for a new horse owner.

Iâm reviewing The Shadow Berry equine grooming kit.So first, itâs worth noting that a complete grooming kit like this is probably either being purchased for a new horse owner or by someone who needs a large set of brushes for an individual horse, such as a horse in quarantine. Iâm guessing that most if not all of the buyers of this kit are looking to start a grooming kit from scratch. So thatâs how Iâll review it.Some of the main plastic items are standard- the hoof pick, grooming gloves, sweat scraper, braid rubber bands, and the tail brush are exactly what you need and would find at the tack store if you were shopping at a brick and mortar shop. These get a thumbs up.These two plastic toothed combs wonât stand up to much⦠youâd need a metal comb if you wanted it to last. Youâll break the tail hair if you use it on a tail, and the teeth will probably snap off on a thick mane. These get a thumbs down.The three bristle brushes are ok. They have plastic bristles , which has a place in the tack room. The larger brush is the best option. The other two are kind of small for both adult hands and large animals such as horses. If you are purchasing this set for a child, all three brushes will be useful.The carry case is handy. Nearly everybody I know uses a plastic caddy, but this soft sided carrier is kind of nifty.All in all, a decent purchase, especially if you need an entire set of grooming tools.
