Plant protection and other creative uses
I originally bought these as metal plant protectors, but ended up using them to make small rabbit cages, and they worked out surprisingly well.First ImpressionsThe panels are lightweight but sturdy, with a clean coating that helps prevent rust. They snap together easily and hold their shape better than I expected given the price.Creative Use â Rabbit CagesAs a budget-friendly option, these are excellent. With a little zip-tying and reinforcing, I was able to create rabbit enclosures that are roomy enough for smaller rabbits, yet secure enough to keep them safe. They donât bend out of shape under normal use, and the gaps are small enough to prevent escapes. Good Idea but Not Convinced the Quality is Up to Standard
I was very excited to see this product since I have an ongoing problem with squirrels in my garden. The item arrived promptly and very well packaged, all parts neatly stacked in the interior box. Everything was in place and tied or bagged separately. So, why am I giving it only 3 stars (if they had half stars, I’d give it 3 1/2 stars)? I quickly realized that all three main components – the chicken wire panels, the staples and the zip ties are thinner and not as sturdy as what I am accustomed to. I have been making my own protective cages for years now, cutting the rolled chicken wire and doing the assembly, expending a lot of energy in the process. So, I do appreciate the fact that the panels are pre-cut, and I don’t have to deal with the arduous work of cutting them by myself. But, due to the fact that these components are much thinner, I am not sure how long they’ll last. Even the gloves that were enclosed were quite thin and may not be very good at protecting one’s hands from scratches. I used my own gloves. I have not made all of the cages yet and those that I’m using are doing their job of keeping the squirrels away from my plants. At this point. I’ll come back and update my review when I have more feedback to share. Overall, I believe, the product is a very good idea, but the components may turn out to be more disposable than reusable – after a season of using the cages. I hope I’m wrong but only time and the squirrels will tell.

works okay for larger animals
These plant protectors do a good job at keeping larger animals away from my plants as described, but the spacing is too large for smaller animals such as chipmunks, ground squirrels and rodents. Since these smaller animals are in my area, this fencing won’t do a great job for me and I would have to add additional fencing to take care of the other critters. No need to do twice the work.

Versatile and easy to use
These plant protectors are wonderfully versatile and they come with everything you need to set up successfully. They come with stakes, zip ties and labels so they are very easy to assemble. In addition they are easy to shape to your needs. For some plants I wound them into a round shape and for another I bent them to create corners and a “roof” for extra protection.They are the perfect size for a home garden. They fit saplings and young plants well.I’m not sure how long they will last without rusting in our very humid climate, but as far as I’m concerned these are an excellent value and great quality.

Good flexible use garden cages but remember to wear gloves
The cages are sturdy but lighter than I would prefer. You MUST wear gloves because the metal flakes off and can get embedded into your hands. The first time I handled them, it felt like getting fiberglass in my hands. It comes with a good number of zip ties, stakes, supports, and labels, so you can shape it around just about any planter or form you want. For the price, it’s a fairly good value, especially if you need to protect your plants after they’ve grown and become victims of local furry wildlife.

Sturdy and completely customizable!
This is a nicely organized set of mesh panels and supports that can be used in a variety of different ways. All components seem well made and sturdy, though the included gloves seemed a bit thin so I used my own. The individual panels make it easy to customize the size of any barrier to specific plants. These could also be used to make more permanent panels or fencing by framing each mesh piece in wood. Overall I think this set is a great addition to my gardening stash as it can be catered to the individual needs of your garden. Works in beds, boxes, potsâ¦.anywhere!

Lot of work to assemble.
Safe yourself the time and effort of zip tying each panel to make a protective fence. A roll of chicken wire is as effective, and a lot less time consuming to prepare.

Stays steady
U-shaped anchors dig in tight, and those fiberglass poles? They add serious strength. These 24-inch cages donât budge, even when deer rub against âem or my dog charges into âem. Used to prop tall protectors with metal rods or PVC pipes, but these? The U-anchors and fiberglass poles hold âem steady all on their own.
