When Alyssa welcomed a tiny kitten named Theo into her home during quarantine, she had no idea how deeply the little cat would attach himself to her. From the very beginning, Theo followed her everywhere, padding quietly behind her through every room as if he never wanted to lose sight of his favorite person. He loved curling beside her on the couch, resting nearby while she worked, and settling in close whenever the house grew quiet. Theo was affectionate, loyal, and incredibly clingy. Eventually, Alyssa made a decision. She drove to the Austin Animal Center, hoping to find a real friend who might bring more joy into Theo’s world.

When the new cat arrived home, Theo’s curiosity took over immediately.

He watched her every move with wide eyes. She was quick, energetic, and fearless as she bounced across furniture and leaped off the walls with kitten-like excitement. Theo seemed fascinated by her speed and confidence.

Now the two are rarely apart. Wherever one goes, the other is close behind. Their days are filled with shared naps, playful chases, and quiet moments curled together.

For Alyssa, the change is beautiful to witness. What began as a lonely kitten cuddling a toy has turned into a pair of inseparable companions.

Theo still carries the gentle, loving personality that made him such a velcro cat. But now he has someone who understands him in a way only another cat can.
