These hornworms come shipped in a habitat with food! Hornworms are great for picky eaters and can be a good trick to get your reptile off a hunger strike! They come in an intriguing blue/green color that is sure to catch the eye of your reptile! They are a good treat due to their high water content which will help re-hydrate your reptile! Both the 12 count and the 25 count come with the same amount of food. The 12 count hornworm cups will have enough food to grow them to their full 3”-4” length while the 25 count hornworm cups will run out of food when the worms reach about 1.5”-2” in length. Keep the cup upside down and either prop up the bottom or place it on a screen or grate so fresh air can flow through the habitat. If you’d like your worms to grow to their full size, keep them at 82°. If you keep them at 55° you will slow down their growth rate. Hornworms usually double in size when kept at warmer temperatures. If your worms are not growing fast enough, or are too small, place them in a warm location and they will grow extremely quick. Shake out the droppings, yellow little ‘kernels’, so they don’t build up to quickly. These hornworms are about ½” long when shipped out and they will grow slightly throughout transit, especially during warm summer months.

Customers say
Customers find the hornworms to be of great quality, healthy, and growing fast, with many noting they grow to a size big enough after a week or so. The product offers good value for money. However, there are mixed experiences with size – while some find them decent, others say they’re too small to feed to their lizards. Moreover, the emergence rate and food quantity receive mixed feedback, with some reporting all worms arrived alive while others received mostly dead ones, and some containers having no food at all.

Bought for reptiles, I’m absolutely happy! !WARNING! DO NOT RELEASE if you buy for education
Bought two sets at once, they arrived just as scheduled. They were all a decent size and had eaten almost all their food by the time they arrived. That’s too be expected and it’s a good sign in my opinion!Since I have experience with these I had extra food on hand and prepared a portion. They’re very fast so sadly I lost some as they ate each other when food ran out (that’s on me!) but after losses I have 25 in one cup and 24 in the other.I had obtained them to grow them to adult stage and they’re doing amazing. My beardies will lose their mind once they realize I got their favorite treat once again!I recommend for people to buy extra food BEFORE ordering these, in case you plan to keep them for a while. There’s no guarantee there will be food left when you get them, which isn’t a bad thing and just a sign that they’re lively and healthy. Now for those people that buy these guys to let them pupate and hatch for education purposes, please DO NOT release them, regardless of the stage they’re in (larva, pupa, moth). They are PESTS and can wreak absolute havoc, as the speed of growth and their insatiable hunger implies. It takes very few of them to eradicate an entire tomato plant for example. So please dispose of them after you’re done with them (use moths for spread displays or freeze them before tossing etc!).

Best decision I’ve ever made as a dragon mommy! Recommends! 5 stars!
Was skeptical due to other reviews. Our bearded dragons are growing and meal worms just aren’t satisfying them anymore. We purchased these in a local store and I decided just to take a look on Amazon. Amazon is definitely the way to go for me, I got triple the amount of worms for half the price. I recieved the worms about 5 days after ordering. I did count them before using any and recieved 30 worms. Our dragons were very happy and ate them instantly. They came just as described, in a bucket and the bucket did contain food for the worms. As the worms did grow and grew quickly as the days went on. We are now on our third order and we will continue to be customers until we no longer have our dragons (which I pray is years from now). I recommend not just this product but this company for any dragon family who needs something more to feed them. Our dragons have shed twice since feeding them horn worms, they are all healthy and happy. Best decision I’ve ever made as a dragon mommy!

Extremely Pleased!
First time ordering live insects on Amazon for my bearded dragon. I was nervous as to how they would be when I received them. I am extremely happy with the transaction. I received a lot more than 25 hornworms as I realize they add a few extra in case of some dying in shipment but I only had 3 that were dead that still left me way over the amount I ordered. I am so happy that I will only be ordering my hornworms from them from now on. I save over $10 per container that my local store was charging and I was lucky if I had 16 out of 20 that were alive at a cost of $25 +tax. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you!

No issue with product or seller, just picky beardie
My beardie liked this ok, she wasn’t as into them as I thought she would be. She gets more excited over her superworms, but I wanted to buy some of these to treat her to something new. At first I kept putting them in front of her and she ignored it. Eventually she ate them, but reluctantly. The product itself was mostly as described. The worms weren’t as large as I thought they’d be, they arrived in a plastic container with a mesh material on both sides so they can climb and it comes with plenty of the food they eat. They were definitely too small to feed my beardie when they first arrived, I had to wait about a week to a week and a half before they were full size which is why I deducted a star, I was hoping to feed them to her the day they arrived.Getting small worms that grow to full size in your care is better than getting full size worms where some of them die in transit I suppose, but I would have preferred if they came medium-medium/large. I, personally won’t be buying these again, but it has nothing to do with the seller or their product, just a beardie who’s set in her food choices.

Alot came alive.
So USPS and shipping things are horrible right now. I had tracking on this package and it sat in Detroit for a whole week. I was worried I would get them all dead. So I do have 14 dead worms. But I have 28 live. I have about 4 that are very small and may not grow, but they are moving and are alive. So overall I am shocked that so many are alive because my mail lady put them by the garage door in the freezing cold temps. But it looks like they sent enough to try to make up for that possibility and the USPS issue.I am satisfied with my purchase. Thank you for the yummiest for my bearded dragons!

sick worms?
I ordered 25 hornworms. They were teenie tiny when they arrived. Five days after receiving them, I only have 10 left. The rest are all dead.I was giving this company another chance because the last time I ordered, I ordered large ones and within a few days, they were all sick and dying. I was afraid to feed them to my lizard in case they had something that might affect her.I know it isn’t the conditions I keep them in because worms ordered from other companies don’t die on me. I have ordered from DBDPets several times and this has only happened the last 2 times but I don’t want to waste my money on dying insects.
