Great alternative to abrasive perches â high quality and effective
Iâve been searching for a product like this for a long time, and Iâm so glad I finally found it.Traditional nail-filing perches do help keep a birdâs nails trimmed, but theyâre often too rough and can irritate the skin on their feet. This perch solves that issue nicelyâonly the underside has the sandy grip, which is all thatâs really needed to file nails. The rest of the perch is smooth natural wood, so itâs gentle on the birdâs feet.The wood itself feels solid and well made, and the mounting system is easy to install and secure. Itâs definitely a step up in quality compared to the standard abrasive perches Iâve tried.My only minor complaint is that the diameter is a little large for smaller birds like budgies and lovebirds. I adjusted the angle so that the nails make contact without the skin of the foot touching, and it works fine. It would be great if the seller offered a smaller size option in the future.Bottom line: Excellent quality, bird-friendly design, and a much better solution than the usual abrasive perches. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a safer way to manage their birdâs nails.
