perfect to put on a kitchen scale
The vet said we needed to weigh our (sick) Sun Conure daily to keep track of his progress. If you have small to medium size birds, this is perfect for putting on a kitchen scale. It is light, small, inexpensive, and arrived quickly. If your bird is trained to “step up,” then getting them to accept the stand takes minutes with an enticing treat. I wish we got this before he got sick. It is worth incorporating weighing into your daily bird care routine. I hope it is not too late for ours.

Good size, a bit loose
This is a great portable little perch. It’s lightweight and easy to assemble. The only minor issue I have is that it doesn’t screw very tight and tends to need correction, but it’s honestly hardly an issue. Highly recommended.

Just What I Needed!
Wish the price was a bit better, it’s a pretty simple thing, but just getting the thing together and to me causes the expense. A different one came in a 10 pack, but it didn’t look as nice and 10 is a bit more than I wanted to deal with. Four or five for twice what I paid for this would be ideal. I got this for my parrot to sit with me on my desk while I work, and it’s great. I had wanted an inch or two taller, but this is fine. He’s a Jenday Conure (very similar to a Sun Conure) and his tail just clears the surface when he’s sitting relaxed and his tail drops to its lowest. If I let him sit on my shoulder, he always starts going after my shirt, but if I’d put him on my hand, he’d just chill, so I thought a perch would let me type with both hands. And it does! He just chills, or chews on it. It is barely big enough to catch a poop if I forget to take him to do his business. He does drop wood chips all over my books, but that’s fine, and he will eventually chew it up–that’s what parrots do. Other wooden things like this last quite a while, even though they start looking pretty chewed up.I can also use it for a table-top training perch, although a metal one is actually better than that because the birds are not so driven to chew them, and I’d like to have a metal training perch but am not in the mood to spend the money presently. But I got this one for a nice place for my bird to hang out while I work at my desk and it’s perfect for that. Here he is just chillin’, almost asleep–and I can get so much done when he’s that way!

It works, but I Hate the Screw on Top
I have a training stand like this already but needed a second. The company I originally bought from no longer carried the item, so I bought this. It does work. I just hate that it has this screw on top the perch (my old one does not). Had I looked closer, I would not have bought it because of that screw. Also, it does not come with instructions. It is simple enough to put together, though.

Sturdy & well made
I have 4 budgies. I use this T stand on our gram scale to weigh them every morning. I also use it for target training. I like that it’s very stable and just the right size for the scale. I did treat it with food grade linseed oil to protect the raw wood. It wipes clean easily with an unscented baby wipe.

Basic perch
Smaller than appears in photo so make sure to look at the measurements they provide. Basic perch – convenient and inexpensive.

Not amazing, maybe keep shopping
The stand overall is fine. But. I had to hammer the bottom screw in a little so that it sat flush with the base, otherwise the base would tilt and spin on a flat surface. The wood is soft enough that it was an easy fix. Also, the actual perch has the screw head visible. Not happy about that. Speaking of the horrible cheap screws, that top screw broke a tiny shard off into my thumb. I pulled it out with tweezers only to find that no, the shard broke, and I had the rest of it to dig out of my thumb with a sewing needle and magnifying glass. Took me 30 minutes to get it out. I had already planned to wrap the perch in Coban to make sure our birds had some good grip, but I especially donât want them to get any screw shards or splinters in their feet so Iâd highly suggest covering it if you buy this perch. If you need a small cheap T-stand perch, this one will do as long as youâre good with getting what you paid for and arenât opposed to using some better quality screws and covering the perch itself. But if you want something nice, keep looking.
