Less Mess!
Way less messy than the standard chick feeders you get from the store. I normally have to check on chicks every couple of hours because they would kick their pine shavings into their food & water dishes.The lip on this is tall enough that it takes hours for my chicks to kick enough pine shavings into their food/water to clog it. Very sturdy compared to feeders from the store & much easier to clean as well.

Decent waterer. Wanted something for my little dog and couple of kitties while I am working.
It does it’s job.I bought it for my fluffy friends (dog and couple of cats)My small dog likes it. It looks like it will provide enough water during the day while I am at work, and doesn’t seem to leak, so I count that as a win. I am hoping it will be harder for my pup to “bury for hard times,” and get the whole carpet sopping wet along with everything she pulled from the laundry basket and her bed. ð¤¦

Wow! These are AWESOME! I’ve been buying the little water based from Tractor Supply and they hold up pretty well, but I saw these and decided to give them a try! I needed 2 waterers this time, but I went ahead and bought 3. When they got here I opened the box and these little jewels can be EITHER a feeder OR a waterer!! All you have to do is flip the base over and screw it in! SUPER EASY! Extremely functional! They’re not huge, but the product description tells all that. They’re perfect height for brooders! I just had 3 chicks that didn’t have a mom. If you know you know. Whoever designed these obviously was familiar with the ups and downs of chicken rearing. Kudos!!

Works Well for food on one side and water on the other.
I reviewed this before I understood the base is reversible for water and food use. I was trying to use it for water with the feed side and it would only hold half of the water so I thought it didn’t work. When refilling I noticed it said ‘this side for food’ and ‘this side for water’. Make you pay attention! It’s a perfect size for my baby chicks.

This is a wonderful idea. Just what I needed for starting my baby chicks.. Use for food or water with the flip of the lid..the babies can reach in right out of the incubator. I plan on ordering another one . And the price is very reasonable. No leaking, sturdy and very versatile. A good size for my chicks.

Not as good as I had hoped for but still worth it.
I liked them for a day and still use them on occasion for moving chicks around from one brooder to the other. But the slot that allows water to the drinking trough portion is just a little to narrow and just one piece of wood chip stuck in there will stop the water from draining into the drinking circle for the chicks. But if you monitor it for them it will do fine because it is nice and small for holding chicks in a smaller box or something for a while.

We originally bought this for our chicks food as they were making a huge mess no matter what we were using to feed them. Although, they chicks still manage to peck and throw some of the food out, it’s much less than any other feeding system. Since then, we have actually bought a second for water. All our watering systems for the chicks was leaking after a week or so of use, but after about a month of use, this is still holding up. Great for the price. Our chicks are currently 8 weeks old and we have 5, so the size works perfectly for their food / water for the day. We will be using these until we move them to the coop with our grown chickens. Would highly recommend for the price!

Does the job well. Well designed, can flip the cap over to create either a feeder or a waterer, and the shorter/squatter design means that it doesn’t fall over easily, even when almost empty. Also, wide mouth so easy to clean! I originally bought two from Buckerfields, then saw them on Amazon and bought two more. They are good quality and look like they will be serviceable for a good long while.

Cute product, but not ideal for feeding chicks. They continuously threw the feed everywhere – too much room for scratching. I ended up ordering enclosed feeders instead, which have been way less messy.Works fine for water though!!
