Veterinary Formula Flea and Tick Shampoo is formulated with Pyrethrum, a natural insecticide, to immediately kill and control fleas and ticks. Made with Aloe Vera and Lanolin, it soothes irritations from flea and tick bites, while also gently cleansing and exfoliating your pet’s skin and coat. Pyrethrum, made from a flower, is the active ingredient in our 16 oz. bottle of Flea and Tick Dog and Cat Shampoo. Pet parents should look for droppings/flea dirt in the dog’s coat, allergic dermatitis, excessive scratching, licking or biting at skin, hair loss, tapeworms, and pale gums from flea and tick bites. This Flea and Tick Shampoo is paraben and soap-free. It contains no harsh soaps or damaging detergents, only naturally derived cleansers that are pH balanced for your pet’s skin. For best results, follow the instructions on the product packaging carefully. Wear rubber gloves when applying Flea and Tick Shampoo for dogs and cats. When shampooing your dog, avoid eyes. Use a cloth or sponge to shampoo around your dog’s eyes. Thoroughly wet the entire coat with warm water and then apply enough shampoo to make a lather and work thoroughly into the coat. For maximum control, allow the lather to remain in contact with the skin for five to ten minutes before rinsing. Do not reapply the product for 7 days. Flea and Tick shampoo is safe for dogs, cats, ferrets, and horses 12 weeks and older. We know that your dogs and cats are more than just pets – they are part of the family – so Veterinary Formula Clinical Care develops premium products that pet parents can actually afford. Your pet will be free of fleas and ticks, smell great and have a soft, shiny, and lustrous coat – making you both happy and able to focus on more important things like treats, games, and snuggles.

Effective Flea & Tick Control â My Go-To Pet Shampoo
Iâve tried several flea and tick shampoos over the years, but this one has been the most effective for my dog. It lathers up well, has a clean scent, and really seems to kill fleas and ticks on contact like it claims. After just one bath, I noticed immediate relief for my dogâless scratching, and no visible fleas afterward.I also like that it rinses out easily and doesnât leave any heavy residue on his fur. His coat feels soft and clean after each use. I still follow up with a monthly preventative, but this shampoo is a great extra layer of protection, especially during peak flea season or after trips to the park.It can be a bit drying if used too often, so I make sure to follow up with a moisturizing conditioner or spray to keep his skin healthy. Overall, this shampoo is now a staple in my pet care routine, and I highly recommend it to any pet owner dealing with fleas or ticks.

So good!
The BEST flea shampoo! We rescued our sweet puppy from a really bad hoarding situation, and new she needed a flea bath. Even though we treated her with a topical solution, it did NOT detour fleas, so we have been using this shampoo at least once a week. Many MANY fleas have been murdered since buying this! Literally works wonders and we have had zero negative effects. Buy it!

hands peel
Works well enough. Does take some elbow grease they donât just fall off but it makes them weak and you can brush them out or with tweezers. i used gloves and the shampoo came inside my glove and made my hand burn. later it started to peel but worth it if my dog is flea free.

Mild citrus smell, lathers great, effective on killing fleas and not the budget! My grail shampoo!
Iâm almost embarrassed that I had to order this. I had a slight flea infestation thanks to âLe Dogâ. In 30 years of dog & cat ownership I have never had to deal with fleas and ticks. Fast forward to 2023, Iâm now living adjacent to a dense wooded area. Stupid me, I thought those expensive monthly chew tablets prescribed by the vet for fleas & ticks took care of just that, fleas and ticks. As they say, âitâs complicatedâ! As a pet owner, I feel like Iâve let them down. Believe it or not, I never saw a flea on my dog, it was found on the indoor cat that never goes outside! My dog is a dachshund/beagle mix so he has a smooth, very dense, tight double undercoat of brown black fur to hide in, but the cat⦠he has a fine coat of light ginger colored fur so it couldnât hide and got caught âsneakingâ about.Long story short, after a quick call to the vet, all the pets needed capstar administered which would kill fleas immediately BUT not the eggs. Unfortunately, we are talking about giving reluctant 20lb male cats a pill they would rather not have. With one dog and 4 cats in tow we headed to the vet to have the âflea killerâ pill administered. Meanwhile, pest control came to bomb the house & spray the yard while on our little day trip to the vet. The next step was washing/sanitizing all beddings & linen and vacuuming the floors with the dog bath last. Since I was already familiar with the Veterinary Formula product line and it being paraben free and no skin reactions on the dog, I ordered their Flea & Tick shampoo. The 16oz bottle guarantees lâll get more than a couple of baths out of it. I also needed to strike a balance of a reliable brand that was effective in killing fleas, was not harmful or irritate my dogâs sensitivities, and was affordable. This was it. I needed it to kill any adult stragglers, immature fleas or newly hatched fleas that the pill did not. My first âsniffâ impression is the shampoo does NOT have a strong chemical odor, but more of a mild citrusy scent (better than what I was expecting). It does a great job of lathering up making it easy to work into the undercoat and reach any fleas living there. There was no skin irritation, burning, or allergy to using the shampoo and it left no residue. It felt more like a sudsy conditioner. I waited closer to 8 minutes before rinsing out the shampoo. That stuff is fantastic! Oh-kay, he didnât smell as sweet as his oatmeal shampoo BUT⦠he had âsalon softâ and silky fur! Itâs actually better than the conditioner I have been using. As for fleas? I may have seen a spec or two in the bathtub. In all likelihood, the dog was used as a flea taxi into the house & cats. Up until now, the indoor cats were not on any flea prevention, but that has changed as well as getting flea combed. As they say, âwhere there is one, there is manyâ. While the shampoo was effective in killing & removing current fleas on Lucky Lou, it had to be used in conjunction with the other flea prevention treatments above to get ahead of the flea-eggs crazy life-cycle. A second flea bath was given 10 days out as a precaution. Did you know one flea can lay 50 eggs? Worse, one female flea in 60 days can leave you with 20,000 if not treated. -The constant spray, wash, vacuum, of carpet, bedding & linens and the once monthly flea oral & topical treatments now has house & pets âflea-freeâ for 82 days! Iâm also pretty sure the cooler weather has helped to control the yard population as well as planting plenty of mint about. Overall, 5 stars! Neither dog nor cats have fleas! This is my grail of flea shampoo!

Does okay.
I have used it one time on 3 dogs with fleas. It does kill probably 60 or 70% of them, but it left a lot of them alive and hoping around in the bath tub. I did follow directions including leaving it on for 5 minutes. Got it in all the creases and folds and privates, but it just didn’t do that great. I got them some natural flea chews, and give them a week then give another flea bath, hopefully that will work better. Over all, it did okay but I wasn’t super impressed. And in case you’re wondering, it’s not super scented or anything. Also, it does not repel them. The moment they went outside they got covered again.

Fantastic product
This product is fantastic, I donât leave reviews often but I am hoping it will help pet parents make a decision on this, as soon as we applied this shampoo and water and started gently scrubbing with our hands the fleas started crawling outside fur, the great majority of them died on contact and they continued to died later in the day, you can still see a few alive but they are crawling away and outside the fur which makes it easy for us to see and clean away.I highly recommend, in fact I came back for the after spray.I donât think my dogs (labradors) have ever gotten fleas before so this was a first one and it has worked fantastic for them all.

Works perfectly and no flea is safe
Love this flea killer, the smell is a bit harsh at first but that’s the only downside I’ve seen. It spreads well and doesn’t mess with my pitbull mixes skin. Also washes as well and leaves a clean smell afterwards. It’s worked every time at killing fleas and so far is my go to flea shampoo.
