Very informative Book
Lainey has succeeded in writing a book on not only horse care but also pasture and stable care that is a really good read. Her book keeps you wanting to get to the next page. I purchased two of these books one for myself and one for a neighbor girl that loves to ride, I thought this book would help her to understand what all goes into owning and taking care of a horse. I will admit I am not finished reading the book yet, like everyone else life gets in the way of these things, having said that I am looking forward to the cooler months ahead to be able to curl up on the couch with a nice fire going in the fireplace and read the rest of it.This book would be a great Christmas gift to someone who rides or who just love horses, as well as to someone who currently owns horses, always getting someone else’s view on how they take care of their stable/horse could be a helpful addition to your current ways.

Comprehensive, informative and helpful for first time horse owners
I was given this book to review, and have to say that it gave the most comprehensive but straightforward and understandable descriptions of horses and their care that I’ve read.Solid facts and advice combined with a friendly writing style make this a super easy read, and definitely one for all horse owners, regardless of their experience.It was most definitely a helpful book to put the beginner owner at ease as they get started looking after their own horse.

Disservice to the reader.
Am disappointed that this book details the anatomy of a horse using numbers that are so small I cannot read them (page 32). I took a picture to magnify but then the numbers became too blurry. It is a total disservice to the reader.

A great go-to for the novice owner
It can be hard to find a book that covers the basics without burying you in a bunch of stuff you don’t really NEED to know, but this book manages to do just that. A great guide for the new owner with tons of hints to make your life a bit easier when starting out. A must read for any novice horse owner

Very cheap and poorly made
When I opened the book it started with chapter 11! Then 12, then the usual pages that start a book. Very disappointing. It was also very stiff and hard to open, it felt like you would break the binding if you opened it up.
