Exo Terra Plastic Terrarium Plant, Small, AmapalloThe ones I got look like they need to clean their injection mold. There’s quite a bit of flat excess plastic bits sticking out off of the stems and whatnot. Also I like that these are plastic and not silk, that’s why I bought them, but these have kind of a rough texture on the surface of the leaves that negates the whole easy to rinse clean factor which is why I prefer plastic over silk to begin with. Things stick to rough surfaces more. Also the texture of the leaves looks more fake being rough. The very similar Zoo Med ones are smooth plastic and didn’t have all the excess plastic where it didn’t belong so kind of preferring those even though they are a few dollars more.Not sure, maybe the rough texture will suit your needs or perhaps has some purpose like for little frogs to get a grip on or something, or perhaps to retain more water drops for critters that will only drink from what drips off the leaves? Personally I have a snake who likes to poop in her water bowl that she then continues to swim in repeatedly while doing a triathlon around the terrarium so I’m interested in low maintenance cleaning and disinfecting. And she climbs on, in, and through this Exo Terra one and and the Zoo Med ones just the same even though they are just meant to be some background cover and she’s twice as long as the vine. Garter snakes are like the deranged kitten personalities of the snake world.All in all these are not too bad and really a great deal for the money, personally I just prefer the other smooth surface ones I mentioned.*EDIT*The small manufacturing defects I mentioned above aren’t really noticeable hanging in the terrarium unless you examine them like a QC inspector. And my garter snake has taken a strange liking to them for some reason. She climbs in this and the similar Zoo Med one I personally like more but she actually curls up and sleeps under this one even though there’s no hide or anything else of note in that area, so I can’t get rid of it and bumped it up to 5 stars.

This fake ficus is soft to the touch and very full. There is no bad smell to it. It’s a high quality piece and a great addition to my daughter’s terrarium.

I was going to return it but changed my mind
When I first received this Ficus silk foliage in the large size it looked kind of cheap to me and I was going to return it. I even went so far as printing out the return labels. (Amazon credited my account before I even put it in the box. Great company!) I had ordered this to cut apart and use to repair an 8 foot Ficus tree which we’ve had for many years but had lost several leaves and small branches when moving it and at the paws of our cats who sometimes regard it as a giant cat toy. So I went out looking yesterday for some other options for the leaves. I went to 6 stores that carry silk plants but the only options I could find looked worse than this one. So I decided to try these.I cut the stem section apart and used some Sugru Sugru SMLT8 Hardware Sealer, Multi Color, 8-Pack air curing rubber to attach them. I mixed about 80% yellow with about 20% black to come up with a greenish color. I used sections with 7 leaves to attach them to branches where the leaves were missing. One reason I originally wanted to return these was because some of the leaves were light green and some were dark. The original tree had only dark. But I added a few of these throughout the tree and I’m happy with the way it looks. In fact, I just ordered some more to add. Up close they look sort of fake, but even from a few feet away they look fine. In fact they make the tree much fuller, more like it looked when we purchased it. And I think the two leaf colors add some dimension to the tree. The Sugru does an excellent job of holding the leaves on tightly. I think they might be cat-proof. (I did a video review on 9/3/13 where I show some leaves that I Sugrued back on a different tree plus some other repairs. Sugru SMLT8 Hardware Sealer, Multi Color, 8-PackSo all in all I’m happy with this product after all and am embarrassed that I was going to send it back. (I contacted Amazon last night and reversed the credit. They must think I’m nuts, especially after I ordered another one today!)

I wanted to add something to my ball python’s terrarium to give him more coverage and also make it look nicer as it was pretty plain. I bought the Large Mandarin. It is very full, lots of leaves, and looks great. When I removed it from the plastic packaging, it did have a slight smell, but that’s not unusual for an item made of plastic, so I just rinsed it off and hung it in the sun for about 10 minutes which took care of the plastic smell. Abraxus is a bit shy but he did check it out a couple of seconds before going into his cave. I’m not sure if he will actually use it as a hide or try to climb it at all, but he is ok with it being in there with him and I think it makes his home look so much better. Overall I am very happy with the quality and the price was fantastic.

Ordered this for my leopard geckos tank the suction works great! I’ve had it in his tank for quite some time and no issue and he loves it !

Silk leaf for inside my fish tank
Order one similar to the one I had gotten from pet plus, this one is way nicer and longer and looks beautiful in my fish tank. I just rescued 2 false julii cory catfish and they needed extra coverage from my betta and my crazy Bristolnose pleco. This way when I get several more cory catfish, they’ll have lots of play and hiding coverage out of sight.Definitely recommend this.
