My daughter has two good sized yellow-belly sliders. They love this cave. It’s large enough for them to hide in, and it has held up for a long time without breaking. I like that it looks natural in their aquarium as well.

I will be honest. This thing seems great quality. I sanitized it and rinsed it very well before using it. It was a little large for my tank. The little guy loved me. Never aggressive but extremely defensive and stealthy. The temperature and humidity were within acceptable ranges according to the device I used to monitor that. I forgot the name. I think I fed him a bad rat once. I wasn’t experienced so maybe I let it expire from keeping it at the wrong temperature in the fridge or maybe I accidentally left the door open. It seemed fine. I was working so many hours and in a difficult situation so I hadn’t handled him as much as usual. I gave him a bath and he seemed normal. Gave him fresh water and the next day he passed. I’m not sure if that was because I had too big of a hiding spot in his cage. He was about to outgrow it so maybe that contributed to it a small amount too. I don’t think the hiding spot being too big for him would have cause that though. I was about to order him a new tank too but I hadn’t decided which one would be best for him yet. Remember there are many things to take into consideration. I Took it in because someone else didn’t have space for it anymore. I was the only person I knew who wasn’t afraid of him except one friend who also has a full schedule.

This product had super sharp edges and plastic shavings that’s sure to injure your pet. I packaged it back up and hit “return” the moment I opened it up. No way am I putting this anywhere near my snake. I’m also not spending this much money on a name brand product to have to modify it (sand it) to make it SAFE.I ended up making my own, custom hide out of Styrofoam, grout, and sealant. Spent about $60 on all the material and now I have an AWESOME XL hide that fits my tank perfect. Checkout DIY large reptile hides on youtube and have fun.

Update- this is my snakes favorite hide. Shes 1500g for reference and itâs a perfect fit. 5 stars from my snake. 3 stars for lack of color accuracy. So 4 stars!The color is off and looks like a weird loaf of sourdough bread. Itâs redish orange and looks nothing like the color of the pictures. It needs a good sanding along the edges as well as itâs a bit sharp. Iâd give it between 3 stars for lack of color accuracy⦠and 4 stars because it is one of the only ârock/caveâ hides that fit an adult ball python. I hope to find a safe way to make it more attractive. I just got it, so we will see if she uses it.

The delivery was slap bang in the middle of the few days window so that was all fine and the cave itself looks great and I canât wait to see my snake get all curled up inside it. The size was a bit smaller than anticipated but it is the measurements but it says extra large I would say itâs not extra itâs more a small large because if it was an extra large that should take an 8ft snake so the value for money wasnât that great.
