Extremely long shelf life! 100% USA canned. With the rising cost of commodities these days, this is a great addition to your food storage program, and an excellent hedge against future price increases. Nitrogen flushed and vacuum sealed, this will last as long as the seal on the can remains intact – which will be for many, many years! Future Essentials Long Grain White Rice is a critical addition to any well-prepared emergency pantry. Packed in a sturdy #2.5 can and sealed for long-term storage, this high-quality rice has a guaranteed minimum shelf life of 25 years, making it a reliable source of nourishment in uncertain times. White rice has been a staple food for civilizations throughout history, sustaining societies across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas for thousands of years. Its long shelf life, ease of storage, and high energy content have made it a foundation of food security for cultures worldwide. In times of crisis, whether caused by natural disasters, supply chain disruptions, or economic instability, having a stockpile of nutrient-dense staples like rice can make all the difference. Many cultures have relied on rice for preparedness, from ancient Chinese dynasties storing it as a safeguard against famine to Middle Eastern and South American communities preserving it for unpredictable times. Rice has been a survival food in war, drought, and economic hardship, ensuring that families and communities had the sustenance needed to endure and rebuild. Beyond its historical significance, white rice remains one of the most efficient and cost-effective foods to store for emergencies. Unlike perishable foods that spoil quickly, properly sealed rice retains its quality for years, making it a smart investment for any household looking to build resilience. Whether preparing for a short-term power outage or long-term survival situations, Future Essentials Long Grain White Rice provides peace of mind, knowing that you have one of the most historically vital food sources ready when you need it most.

It’s Advertised As “Long Shelf Life” –
The Amazon ad says “Long Shelf Life”, but the label on the can and the can itself don’t give a “shelf life” statement. There is a date in “Julian” code (2073) on the label, but if you don’t know “Julian”, you won’t know what it is. The “Julian” code gives the year’s last number and the day starting in January – 073 – 73rd day of the year. Answers to questions about the product state 25 years, but the label and the can don’t. So, in 10 years, say mid 2032, was the can packed in 2012, 2022, or 2032? There is a lot of important information missing. I can’t comment on the contents, I’m going to put a date on the can, put the can on the shelf and hope.

Tiny expensive can
Just be aware that these are very small cans for a very big price. Totally not worth it. Will never buy from this brand again.
