Our Beagle got skunked. I first used the hydrogen peroxide, dish soap and baking soda mixture which did helped until I received this shampoo. Wow, this really works and smells amazing, and no wet dog smell as advertised. Faint smell still on her face because you need to be carefullaround the eyes. So I placed a small amount of shampoo on a towel and carefully wash around her face. Only needed one full bath and a few face washes. Used on my other dogs and they smell amazing. Leaves their fur nice and soft.

THIS WORKS!! I had to share this because it worked so well. I tried a bunch of online recipes that claimed they could help with skunk odor â you know, the typical mixes of baking soda, dish soap, and peroxide. But none of those methods did anything for my dog, who has taken a liking to the neighborhood skunk!Last night, she got sprayed right in the face. I decided to try the Nature’s Miracle. I pulled her into the backyard, covered her with it, and massaged it into her fur, letting it sit for 5 minutes. Then I rinsed her off and repeated the process, applying a generous amount again and letting it sit while I set a timer for another 5 minutes. After the second rinse, I let her air dry in the yard for about an hour.This morning the skunk smell was gone. GREAT product! =)

While it did get the majority of the odor out, the remaining odor wonât come out. Before you could smell my dog from 20 feet away, now you can only smell her from 5 feet away. I used this product 4 times since I got it 2 weeks ago. It may not eliminate odors completely but it lives up to its promises about a no wet dog scent

Natures Miracle skunk shampoo for dogs
Iâm a Natures Miracle girl. Nobody reduces wet dog smell more than this brand! Youâll still smell some wet dog after a bath but way less than with any other shampoo.My dogs have had run-ins with skunks but not since I bought this so I canât speak to that.I bought it because my dogs are old. Old dogs are stinkier – thatâs just a fact. Iâve had dogs for 25 years and itâs inevitable – they get stinky very quickly when theyâre older. So I bought this to reduce the stinkiness.Itâs hard to tell because my oldies canât really tolerate being in the shower for too long – itâs hard on them. This would probably work best if applied and allowed to sit for a few minutes. My circumstances allow me to lather them up real quick and rinse and lather them AGAIN and massage and rinse. And my two old stinkers smell pretty good for about 4 days before the stenchies start rearing their heads again haha.This is VERY citrusy and very watery/thin! In fact it squirts out through a small hole rather than squeezing out like regular shampoo. The liquid nature of it makes it pretty hard to not be wasteful and to evenly apply. Tho I bet itâs great for targeting skunk sprayed areas.I found this doesnât fight off the stinks any more than the other Natures Miracle shampoos weâve used for years – so Iâm not particularly confident it would be of great help with skunk. Weâll see. The same brand makes a wonderful skunk smell product already. Weâve used it. It was much better than before when we didnât use it. But there was still a skunk fragrance happening for weeks. Itâs gonna happen. I bet the other product combined with this one would be even more effective. For those just looking to reduce regular dog stink – buy any of the natures miracle shampoos and theyâll do the same amount Of work. Hope this helps.I recommend this product and this brand.

Leaves Fur Shiny, But Skunk Smell Persists
My dog got sprayed by a skunk, so I purchased this shampoo to help tackle the odor. I followed the directions carefully. The shampoo was gentle and worked well on my dogâs sensitive skin, leaving his coat soft, fluffy, and shiny. However, it didnât seem to do much to remove the skunk oil or odor.

Best skunk-be-gone shampoo!
You wonât be sorry! Our dog found her first skunk and after researching what to use to get rid of the smell on her, I found this product. Wish I wouldâve ordered it the night she got sprayed. I applied a generous amount to her neck/chest (where she got sprayed) to her dry fur and scrubbed it in, it lathers really well. I rinsed her off and applied more shampoo to her neck/chest again and then her entire body this time. I made sure to let the lather stay on her neck and sit for several minutes. I rinsed her and applied it a 3rd time to just her neck because this was her 3rd bath in 4 days and Iâm wanting to make sure we donât need another bath tomorrow morning! Itâs been 5 hours since her bath and the skunk âonions and burnt rubberâ smell is gone!! Her coat feels so soft, no skin irritation so far and she smells good. The shampoo itself smelled good when applying and it wasnât harsh on my skin either. Get this, use it generously and thank yourself later!

Did the trick
I had already done an at home treatment with dish soap, peroxide and baking soda, as well as taking my dog to a groomer to get the rest of the smell off, but even after that there was still quite a bit of residual skunk smell on her face that the groomer told me could linger for up to 6 MONTHS! And I said no way am I putting up with that! So I bought this, gave my dog a good scrub in the bath, did a really good job of getting her cheeks and forehead without getting it in her eyes, and now she smells fresh and clean and is super soft too! Highly recommend, but if you haven’t done any sort of pretreatment (which you should WITHOUT WATER because skunk spray is oil and water will make it worse if you do it first thing) then you may have to do multiple baths to really get the smell out.

Iâm sure experience differs. For Whiskey and my other fur babies itâs truly amazing. I followed instructions to a t lathered him heavily in spray area and walla heâs back in our laps again. Very little remains. Whiskey took a full hit face and neck area. My 3 dogs are all under 10 lb and long hair. Key for my success lather well, massage and rinse. Repeat and no skin irritation. I kept rinsing long after lather was gone.

Definitely helped but I used the baking soda with dawn dish soap first then used this as an added measure for the days following for the smell that remained when he got wet

We have a very small Morkie who got sprayed by a skunk. We found this shampoo highlighted the skunk smell. We were better off just using the hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dawn Homade mixture.
