Customers say

Customers find the driftwood decoration visually appealing and appreciate its shape, with one noting its beautifully twisted form. The wood quality is good, and customers consider it fantastic. However, the size receives mixed feedback – while some find it decent, others say it’s way smaller than expected. Moreover, customers disagree on whether it’s worth the price. Additionally, the water color aspect is concerning, as the wood keeps giving the water a brownish tint. The sinkability is also mixed, with some reporting it sinks while others say it floats.

    Perfect piece!
I ordered the medium piece and it was perfect for my new 5 gallon aquarium. I loved how it was a stump with roots. I can’t wait to see how it looks as the aquarium matures. Very happy with this piece. I did boil it for 3 hrs and then soaked it in water for two more days after. It leeched some tannins but not a lot.Update: I bought a second piece of wood and love it even more than the first. It looks so cool and I can’t wait for it to mature. I got a medium piece for a new 3 gallon aquarium. It is a bit large but the shape worked out in my favor. I’m keeping micro fish and shrimp, so they still have a lot of space. This piece I boiled for about an hour and then changed the water and let sit for 24 hrs. I changed the water again and let sit for another 24 hrs. The piece sunk and is barely leeching tannins.

    A pleasant surprise
I love it! I expected a little fingerling piece of wood that would probably be a little underwhelming in appearance, but good enough to anchor some moss.That’s..uh, not what i got. This is a solid piece the size of my whole face. Lots of drama and great hides and way, way too big for the intended tank.Luckily, I’ve got a 10 gallon tank that it will suit perfectly. I’ve never been so pleased to get something i can’t use for the purpose it was purchased before. It’s beautiful. The only problem here is my interpretation of ‘small’.

Beautiful things come at a cost
The log is beautiful and even though I soaked it for half a day before putting it in, I have had to remove half of the water twice bc the log turns it brown. Like tea brown. Plus, the log floats, which is understandable, it is wood, but it’s for a fish tank! I can’t have my fish tank log floating. I had to sandwich it in to keep it down. 🤦🏼‍♀️Overall, if you can deal with all the water changed due to whatever dye they put on this thing bleeding off and the floating issue, it’s a beautiful piece of wood.Update! Not only did this log never stop turning my fish tank into a brown tea color but is also started to break down. It got this thick coat of fuzz on it, and nothing else in the tank had that fuzz. After I took it out the tank was fine. No fuzz to be seen. I asked a local pet store why they think it turned fuzzy and they said it sounded like it was breaking down the wood. Idk but between the constant water color changes and fuzziness, I couldn’t do it anymore.

    Inconsistent tannin release
I have 2 tanks, so I bought 2 pieces. They’re both stylish pieces and both the perfect side. It’s so weird though, that in one tank, it didn’t affect the water color at all, and the other tank, the tannin release is crazy; turning the water red! I think the inconsistency in tannin release could be an issue to some people. Overall, beautiful pieces

    Dyed driftwood?!?!
Bought two of these driftwood pieces for my fish bowls but when I added it to my first bowl the water turned brown. I boiled the driftwood about 20+ times (cooling, rinsing and repeat) assuming the wood must have been dyed. Let the wood soak in clear water overnight. After all that, I added back to my fish bowl after a water change and the water is still turning brown…..not as dark but still brown. I know that is the look some aquarists are going for, but for me this will detract from my Betta’s beautiful color. The pieces are very nicely shaped, but feel better suited for dark-water aquascape.

    Beautiful driftwood!!!
The most beautiful and perfect sized piece of driftwood I could have received!! Let me make this as clear as possible, anyone who has complained about this wood has not had the patience to clear the tannins in the wood which does take sometime. This is how, boil the wood and remove the water once the it’s darkened. You will notice when the water is not as brown anymore which take about 3 days. Yes 3 days of boiling and dumping the water, then repeat. But the outcome is well worth it I love my driftwood and so do my fish!!!

    Yuck
The “small” size was way too large for my 5 gallom tank. It also looked painted? I took an ax to it and found it almost looked like new cedar wood. Note the lighter color on the grain where I cracked open the wood. I also found lots of fuzzy, colorful surprises growing inside. I can only guess it’s a type of mold or fungus. These pictures are from three days after opening up the piece, there was lots more fuzzy orange stuff at first. I tried boiling some of the smaller pieces, but I don’t think I’ll be adding any of it into my fishies’ new home.
