To people giving negative reviews and blaming the people for injured or dead pets please read the post. I’m not trying to sound rude and I’m sorry for the heartbreak you’re experiencing and the pain or death of pets. This is indeed an adjustable heat mat. You need to raise the temp very slowly to make sure you do not over heat. The adjustment is near the plug in and you twist the nob to adjust the heat. You Can not blame the people that sell it if you are neglecting to read or pay attention to the details in their post. This is working great for my dubias. I have a basement that is 55 degrees. I need it between 80 and 90 degrees for my dubias to breed, so I have literally spent time going back and forth just playing with it to make sure it is not overheating. It can take quite a while to reach the full temp, so you should probably pick a day where you have quite a few hours to sit and make sure that you watch the temp and adjust as needed. Please use a thermostat for heat pad to ensure the safety of the animal. You can purchase those separately on Amazon or pet stores in your area. Don’t blame the sellers if you are neglecting to follow instructions and read details cause that is just not fair.

Perfect item for the use I intended, kept the momma cat and kittens comfy all night long..
Used this item to give my cat and her kittens a warm place to bed at night where here in Kentucky the temperature got down to the low 40’s last night. Placed it between a blanket and adjusted the thermostat to a nice warm setting and that’s where they stayed all night long. Enter the terrors, my puppies were let out this morning and chewed the thermostat to pieces, so only after one night of use, here I am purchasing another, BAD PUPPIES. Guess they were jealous.

Make sure to have bedding between animals and bottom of tank.
It works good and it has a turn daily to turn heat from low to medium and high. I have 2 inch of coconut bedding in the tank and her hide on top of the bedding. I keep the dail at medium and she does great. 5 foot ball python.

Great adjustable heat mat!
We use this to keep our dubia colony warm and it works like a charm! It is adjustable for summer and winter temperature needs and has a decent cord length. So far it’s been very reliable and has been in the enclosure for about 6 months.

if you are having trouble maintaining temps get this. just make sure to use a thermostat it is powerful.i am using it for Dubia roach breeding and it took my temps from 65 to 92 easy on a plastic bin with a piece of glass between the bin and the heating pad. It could go way hotter thats why you need a thermostat.

Not Quality
Purchased the reptile heating pad for my tortoise. The pad’s depth is very thin (like a placemat), but the larger concern is that the heating dial does not have a defined calibration – and the lowest measure (turned all the way down) requires monitoring – since it can get extremely HOT! When I first received, I mistakenly had the dial mid-way, and it was beyond HOT (it was hazardous). I’m glad I did not have my tortoise on top of it (stationary), otherwise it could have easily burned her. Item should come with directions – or a change to the dial for more direction. If you do purchase this item – be sure to monitor before committing your reptile to the mat.

Keeps the tank at perfect temp
I have tried a lot of reptile heat pads for going on the side of the tank for hermit crabs, frogs, etc. and by far this one is my favorite.

I actually use this for vermicomposting. I need to keep my worms warm in the winter. So I decided I’m going to buy another one just like this. I’d like the fact that it’s got adjustable heating, it’s very thin fits under the bucket. Great value.
