Brought peace back to the house! Our otherwise perfectly behaved kitty had taken to scratching one particular door jamb, in the middle of the night, and nothing we tried deterred her. She wanted attention at 2am, and that became the way she got it. We put this there, and there is no noise now. Sheâs happy, we are happy, thereâs peace in the home. For now.

It kind of works. I have 2 cats that have recently started tearing up the couch due to having a newborn. If you cut these into strips to put along the edging they dont stick the best so I would recommend getting some fabric fasteners as well.

Durable and flexible in where you can apply a scratching surface for your cat
It’s a nice-sized roll of scratch surface with the advantage of working well for the cats but not being an irritant for us humans like sisal rope can be. The backing is silver paper and the roll comes with double-sided tabs to attach to surfaces.I have yet to attach it permanently as we are planning out how to use the material, but I have stretched it over a heavy box to provide a safe clawing surface when we traveled, draped it over a staircase railing (didn’t work well because it needs to be taut so has to secure on both ends), and currently have it wrapped over a heavy, wood filing cabinet. My cats have attempted to use it in all three cases, with the first and last succeeding. This is critical because it means they ignored or could be redirected from other, less appropriate surfaces.Ultimately, I hope to use the sizeable roll as part of a climbing wall to keep the cats interested and active. This fabric is tightly woven and is holding up to the wear and tear well. You can see where the cats have been scratching, but the damage is minimal despite months of decent use.While having the whole back covered in adhesive as another of this type was can make for a more secure hold, I like the flexibility and the ability to test different locations before committing. It may also make for a more durable surface over the long run, though I cannot yet say. The other advantage is not having to deal with a complicated cleanup when the cats have gotten full use out of the scratch surface as I know with happen regardless of how durable it might be.
