Save your horses legs and your money
If there was a minus 0 these boots would get it awful, damaged both my horse’s pasterns on all four legs, They have been wearing fly boots for years and never had a problem. I bought these to hold my horses over while waiting for my regular brand to get here, big mistake not worth the injured legs.

    So Far So Good
Just put these boots on my girl and after a few moments of her walking funny while getting used to them, she settled on into them pretty well. The material seems very nice and breathable, lightweight; however I am slightly concerned about the elasticity and the ability for the boot to stay up around my horses’ legs long term. With the fabric being so lightweight, I’m worried about the strength in the boot once the elastic begins to go. I’m also slightly concerned with the “fuzzy” material around the top of the boot. It does seem like the seam where the Velcro meets could possibly cause rubbing since the fuzzy material doesn’t fully go over the side where the seam is. I’ll have to monitor her for any signs of rubbing. As far as keeping flies off her legs, the boots do seem to be doing a good job. Once I put them on, she seemed relieved once she got used to them and realized what they were on there for. My mare is 14.3 and has slender legs so these fit her just fine. I got these specifically with her in mind, however, they do not fit around my wife’s Percheron/QH cross legs. My mare is generally a really easy going lady, she doesn’t roll all that much nor does she pick at things that are on her, so I can’t speak to a horse that tends to be more active or “crazy” in pasture. All in all, currently they seem to be doing the job, but I will update further once the boots have been put through their paces a bit.

    Fly boots for your horse
These fly boots do a pretty good job of keeping flies and other biting insects off your horse’s lower legs.I like that the top and bottom edges are covered in a soft fabric so they don’t irritate your horse’s legs. There is a plastic stay on one side, and along with the velcro fastener on the other, the boots maintain their shape and don’t slide down.Just remember to put fly spray on the parts of your horse that aren’t covered!

Do not stay in place very long
These are breathable fly boots. I have quite a few pairs of these types of fly boots from different brands and these were the first, and only ones so far, that haven’t held up the way I expected them to. Yes, they’re made of breathable mesh which does keep out the majority of biting insects when they stay in place. Like most Velcro closure fly boots, it can be frustrating to try and line up the whole section in a non-bulging way. My biggest issue was with their inability to stay up or to stay in place no matter what I tried. I do like the bright blue color and they are easy to rinse/clean off but I can’t recommend them completely because of their quality and because the one thing they’re supposed to do, keep biting insects away, they do not do well at all.
