Customers say
Customers find these gloves exceed expectations, keeping hands warm in 20°F weather and featuring thick, tough leather that holds up well over time. They are comfortable, fit big hands well, and customers consider them worth the price. However, customers disagree on the sizing, with some finding them too large.

Finally, the best leather thinsulate gloves!
I’ve been searching for these for years. They are great. Thick and warm – 100 gram thinsulate. Well made and affordable. I’ve had to return other black leather gloves because of poor quality. Not these. As other reviews noted, sizing is a bit smaller than mormal. I usually wear large, but ordered the extra large in these. But, I probably could have stayed with large and they would have been a bit tight. All in all, a superior deal for a study, warm black glove.

Warm
These gloves are for my husband. He wrote this review.I bought these because I needed a new pair of warm gloves. The ski gloves I used to use wore out. These gloves are very good, but not excellent. They keep my hands quite warm under normal circumstances. I wore them in ~30F temperatures for an hour recently. I’ve yet to test them in colder temperatures, though I suspect I’ll what 150g Thinsulate for extended use in colder conditions. My issues with these gloves are with sizing, texture, and tags/tabs. As you can see from the picture, my hand isn’t small, but hardly gigantic. According to the measurement guide, given the 9¼” circumference around the widest part at the base of my fingers, I should wear size large. From experience, I knew I’d need at least XL, but even they weren’t big enough. I could put XL on my hands, but they were tight on my fingers, which meant blood flow would be somewhat restricted and my fingers would be cold. What you see pictured is the XXL. While something between the two might be ideal for my hands, the XXL is best for me. Unfortunately, the elastic doesn’t gather the glove tightly enough at the wrist; the gloves don’t stay on my hands quite as well as I’d like as a result. The gloves are rather smooth. There’s a slight texture, but they are slipperier than I’d like. I can’t grip my already slightly slippery steering wheel as well as I’d like. I wear unlined deerskin leather gloves in cool weather and they work great on that same steering wheel. Finally, there’s the 3M Thinsulate tag and the tabs sewn into the base of each glove to secure them to the packaging. Cutting off the latter isn’t a big deal, but it’s annoying that one must cut them off the gloves so they don’t rub the underside of one’s wrists. The bigger deal is the much-too-large, silver 3M Thinsulate tag on the outside seam of the left glove. I cut it off as well as I could, but you can see in my picture that a little is still visible. Isn’t it enough that the gloves were packaged with information on the insulation? Carhartt, was it necessary to put such a large, contrasting advertisement on the gloves themselves?I have no idea how long these gloves will last. I haven’t worn them long enough. Finally, I should note that my gloves are all black. The pictures show a gray edge at the seams and gray stitching. The listing pictures also show a wider, stitching-flanked elastic band at the wrist than you can see my gloves have. I have no idea whether my gloves are newer or older than those pictured in the listing, but they are certainly different. That also means that the texture of mine could also be different than what are now pictured in the listing.

Heavy duty, Warm, Seem rugged
I got these to replace a pair of cheap-o leather gloves that turned-out to be just that… “CHEAP-O”!!! Where as the other pair was paper thin leather and poorly made, these Carhartt’s are made of thick, rugged, quality leather and have a 100 gram Thinsulate liner. Gloves seem to be very well constructed of all quality textiles. I was a little surprised to see that Carhartt were having these made in China but I guess it’s just a sign of the times. I will warn everyone that if you have very large hands, you’ll need to order the XXL size. Even the XXL’s are snug when new but after a good break-in period they relaxed and fit quite well. I sped-up the break-in procedure by slathering the pair down with Lexol leather conditioner (several thick coats over the course of a full day) and after the conditioner had soaked-in and the gloves were worn they softened-up and became far more flexible and comfortable. Unless you’re a die hard “Made in the USA ONLY” type, I recommend these for winter wear.

Satisfied customer
Great quality gloves, they’re genuine carhartt. They’re nice looking and can be used as a driving glove, but they’re also well insullated and thick so they could definitely be used as a work glove. They do run a little small though, so check the size chart and order one or two sizes bigger like the rest of the reviews say. I ordered one size bigger and they fit perfect. My fingers are long but thin. If you have thick fingers you may want to order 2 sizes bigger.

Way too big!!!
I wear an X-Large in every single pair of gloves and these wear more like a 3X. Literally put them on put my hands down at my sides and they were falling off. I will say they are very nice quality and seem very warm and very soft and comfortable inside. It’s just the sizing issue for me. Might want to think about going down a size or two.

They are listed as driving and working gloves and they seem like they are built to last and can be used …
Gloves look well made and durable. They are listed as driving and working gloves and they seem like they are built to last and can be used for every day use in cold weather, but are nice enough too to be worn with more dressed up outfits. They will make a nice part of a holiday gift for my boyfriend and I know he will get good use of them on our holiday trip and for many seasons to come. These are a good value and I’m very happy with this purchase.

gloves are very loose! Poorly made
I messed up, I was a bit excited when these arrived and I cut all the tags off before I tried them on.First off these gloves are made with really good leather and they seem like they will last a long time “BUT”The right glove is loose to the point if I swing my arm it will just fall off.The left glove is even worse the elastic around the wrist is about an inch and a half too big I really have to make an effort to keep it on my hand.Over all the materials are good but the workmanship is horrible unless you have giant hands then these will fit I almost feel like these are seconds or irregular stock they are trying to get rid off. So I am stuck with these and if anyone knows a good way to shrink leather please let me know!No one paid me I did not get these free I paid full price!!!!!

My hands are on the slim side, circumference is 23cm / 8.75in and index finger is 8.5cm / 3.5in. The Large fits perfectly. Great for outside light duty, walking the dogs, shoveling a small laneway, brushing off the car, etc with no problems down to -10C or lower depending on how active you are. No wind gets through. Material is nice and build quality is there. Pricey but worth it, recommended.

Keep my hands warm and dry.Sized a bit big and itâs fair to say that you canât do anything with your fingers when they are on, but I got them for the depths of winter and so probably need to fiddle with my phone a bit less anyway.
Jacques Leblanc –
I put an extra thin woollen glove inside for a great warm fit.
FMichaud –
They are not the warmest gloves ever but for a dress look, they are perfect, better than some fancier one who have barely no insulation. This one have a nice insulation layer and the leather is kinda thick. It’s a matter of personal preference but I like thicker leather cause it’s keep you warmer when holding a stair ramp or a car snow broom, etc. You loose is dexterity though but like I said, it’s a matter of personal preference. Stitching is perfect and strong, the size I order is a perfect fit for my hand so I would assume you don’t have to worry about being too big or small for all size.
