Thick, protective, well made, versatile
I bought these 16â animal handling gloves to use in my home dog boarding / daycare business. Thankfully I havenât had to use them yet, but I like having them âjust in caseâ. I think luck favors the prepared. I ordered a few different animal handling gloves and settled on these. I like the thickness of the leather and the placement of the extra layers of leather. For a female 5â5â and 125 lbs, these fit quite big. However they are comfortable and stay on. I feel protected in them. Some other ones I ordered that were smaller for my hands didnât have as thick of leather or the extra layers of leather at as many places or good places. I would never be able to do fine work with my fingers in these as they are bulky. However I would be able to grab or pick up a small dog or guarded object with them. I think they would protect from a bite from a small dog, medium dog, and warning nips from a large dog. However the bite force of a medium or large dog that means business would still crush your hands, just maybe not be able to rip you open due to the thick leather. I would guarantee that they would hold up to small animals like cats, hamsters, squirrels, birds, etc. Hopefully I NEVER need to test a snake bite on them!!! They appear well made with the stitching with thick but slightly flexible leather. The value is good as I believe they will last many many years used for various tasks like animal handling, grilling, and forging ⦠probably my son will eventually steal them to forge with once he discovers them.

Hands of Invulnerability
I bought these gloves because my miniature dachshund thinks sheâs a 200-pound wolf guarding fresh meat. Picking her up with bare hands was like sticking my fingers in a tiny, adorable wood chipper. With these gloves, I can pick her up and she canât to ð© about it. These gloves are basically tiny dragon-handling gauntlets.

Saved my hands from biting puppy play
Thought I got a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog puppy. Little boy was more like a Saber-toothed alligator. My hands & arms were brutalized during play. These saved me as he was taught & gained better manners. Not good for anything requiring dexterity but they work for claw & teeth protection.

I have fairly large hands, and these are noticeably too small for me, and I’ve only grabbed one feral cat (very gently but firmly; we are rescuers who love them dearly) and he wasn’t fighting me at all, so I don’t really know how they will do against claws and teeth.I wore some similar very thick cloth barbecue gloves to pickup a big strong feral boy a few months ago, and he pierced the gloves and me with both his teeth and claws, so I’m hoping these will be better than those were, since they are labeled as such.

Worth the money and durable
They are definitely bite proff showed up in nothing but a clear plastic bag that amazon just threw in the drive way and a dog took off with them and destroyed the packaging but the glove didn’t even have a bite mark and from our cameras they really got wooled around with two even playing tug of war with them and not even a scratch.
