Customers say

Customers find the calcium supplement effective for birds, particularly noting its benefits for egg-laying parakeets and helping finches feather out fully. Moreover, the product receives positive feedback for its quality, ease of use, and health benefits, with one customer mentioning it helps birds have stronger bones. The powder consistency receives mixed reviews, with some appreciating its refined texture while others find it too finely powdered. Additionally, the product’s stickiness is a concern as it adheres to seeds, though customers consider it good value for money.

    Great product
Worked perfect to help the baby bird grow. Which she ended up getting big enough to go out on her own.

Great for poultry laying soft eggs!
Purchased this to help our hens struggling with feather mites and laying soft eggs. As long as we give about a quarter to half scoop daily to each, mixed with food, they have been laying solid eggs. Thank goodness! Definitely recommend!

Great Calcium Supplement For Picky Birds
I have two pet pigeons that are very picky about their food. This supplement is wonderful in that, not only do my birds love it, the powder its self sticks to the seeds without becoming chalky or sticking only to the oiler seeds. It is easy to dispense by shaking a bit on, or by opening up the other side and measuring out a specific amount. I then just mix it up with the seed. It mixes very well. I would estimate that given the size of the jar, and how little I actually need to use to maintain healthy calcium levels, (specific to my bird’s vet recommendations) this jar should last several months for my two birds. This is a good quality product, and it is great for picky birds. A wonderful alternative to the flavored calcium supplements.

Effective supplement to improve quality and hardness of poultry eggshells.
Easy to apply and effective calcium supplement for my chickens. It has helped develop stronger eggshells in my flock.

    Recommended by my Avian Veterinarian
My conure was having a calcium deficiency and was recommended to try this product in his food. My picky conure didn’t even notice it and will get him back to health. Recommended.

Highly recommended if you have any female birds that lay eggs
Much bigger than I expected it to be, will last for a long time! So this is very cost efficient, especially if you have more than one bird. I bought this to help with egg binding for a female duck and it does the job. Before supplementing her diet with cacium powder, she had to go to the emergency room pretty much every single year during laying season because of egg binding. One time she almost died and the vet told us we were really lucky she did not. Those vet bills were about $1K each time!! This calcium powder has saved us hundreds if not thousands of dollars in vet bills. Highly recommended if you have any female birds that lay eggs. Even if they do not appear to have a problem, if doesn’t hurt to give them this especially if they are laying eggs. This gives them the nutrition that they need.We would cut worms in half and dip them into this powder and give them to our duck daily when she is laying eggs, but you can also sprinkle directly into their food or water and mix. Or mix with another type of treat and feed to them.

    Too finely powdered
As a calcium supplement, this is top notch in quality. It works and works well — IF you can get your bird to actually consume it.That’s a big if because the powder is so fine that it coats to the point where all the color and patterns on the food you mix it with are obliterated — and hence the appeal of that same food. The happy colors of my birds’ favourite zupreem pellets are turned snow white — almost looking like powdered donuts except clearly not tasty. Matter of fact I cannot get my birds to eat at all if what’s in the dish are foods coated by this powder. It literally gets onto everything and sticks to everything. It is very hard to dose and you have no clue how much of it you are adding when you use the included scoop. No supplement is effective if you cannot get your bird to consume it. If you go with this, LESS IS MORE. Add it to a very small amount of food and then add the coated food to a larger quantity so that your birds still get the taste and colors they need. Absolutely no sense starving your birds by using too much at once.

As an aviculturist I have my favorite products I use in my aviary and this is one of them. All my birds eat a varied diet including vegetative calcium found in foods like bok choy, collard greens, and parsley. However, sometimes birds need a little bit more than that. I give this to my breeding birds when the hens are laying, and one of my hens gets this daily as she had a broken leg a little over a year ago which has healed well with veterinary care, but calcium supplementation is necessary to ensure the leg remains stable. The product is simple enough to mix into the feed and sticks well to most items including seeds, pellets, and veggies/fresh food.

I had given this to my conure for about a month fairly regularly. I had noticed she was starting to show lethargy, irration, coordination and balance issues. Eventually this led to her have a set of cluster seizures. We got her blood work and everything with normal. Xray all normal. I took her off the calcium and she was getting better. As soon as I reintroduced it she started showing the same symptoms again. She may have a intolerance to something mixed into the mixture. There is another review on here with a lady with an African gray with similar symptoms. Be careful with this product.Update: turns out my conure has avian bornavirus. Just thought I’d leave this here in case anyone was dealing with similar issues and unsure what is making your loved one sick.
