Does the job well!
Does the job! With a little time and patience, a handy person can rebed a water softener themselves. After rinsing and before installing, the clean gravel made the start-up backwash process a lot cleaner. My softener now works as good as new again!

Small pebbles
These very small pebbles are exactly what I was looking for to create my own “gritty” substrate for plants that need a fast draining medium. They are 1/4″ or less in size and are dusty so may require rinse off in a collander prior to use. I didn’t rinse them off the last few times I used it. I was in a huge rush and was using such a small amount I mixed in a couple of fingerfuls with my potting soil and perlite to put in a 4″ pot of hoya. The plants I did that with have done fine without the rinse off. I will purchase this product again unless I find this size in a bigger size for smaller price…something I’m always on the hunt for.

Works but a bit fine and requires several rinses
I used it for part of water softener resin replacement and seems to work fine last several weeks. No noticeable water pressure drop at facets. It required 5 rinses because it had really small gravels that may not be filtered by the bottom diffuser.

I like the fact that the product arrived early. I like that it was exactly as advertised. I dislike that I had to rinse the gravel several times before clean water ran from it. The price was right and if I had to do it again I would buy it once more.
