Effectiveness of function
I definitely liked the performance of the filtration system….EA Hang-On Power Filter. It was quiet and kept a steady flow of water running through it, assuring it was working well and doing the job effectively. I put my words in past contents, due to the fact that I live here in Houston, where last week, we had a power outage and dealt with frigid weather for days. Therefore, I lost all my fishes. But, I would recommend it, if anyone is in the market for a good filter system.

Average Filter
It works well enough, makes a little more noise than Iâd personally like. I also found itâs not as strong at keeping the tank clean as I need. For context, I have a 10g with cichlid babies so itâs not a whole lot for the filter to take on but I had to add an additional sponge filter in there to keep the water clearer. All in all, simply average filter.

Great, cheap, and quiet nano filter.
Ideal for 5-10 gallon aquariums. I am using it on a 5 gallon cube.It is very quiet, the media bay is spacious for the size and easy to customize, and the water flow is adjustable.It also comes with a long intake valve for good water movement throughout the aquarium.It isn’t the cheapest for aquariums this size, but it is a great filter.

Broke after a couple months
Worked fine for a couple months and the flow got very weak so I deep cleaned everything and went to put it back on my tank and is not working anymore the back pump is getting hot but not doing anything tried adding water to kick start it a little bit but still nothing and itâs pretty noisy

Review changed: This brand offers a good price/works well (WHEN WORKING) but poor quality.
Update: This lasted 3 months. It WAS working until a week ago. The impeller keeps sticking after it starts and will not consistently stay going and abruptly stops. The impeller is not broken from what I can tell. Very disappointing.The flow rate out of this filter is great for my 10 gallon tank. It has been running for about 1 month now and no issues. The slot for the media cartridge wastes a lot of space so I removed the carbon/floss cartridge it came with and I used the coarse bio sponge it came with, my own ceramic media and filter floss and packed it full. The pump is very quite and 6 weeks into using it and it seems reliable so would but this brand again.
