Excellent tool!
A very simple, very effective grooming tool. Several dogs I’ve used it on (who will not tolerate a regular brush) they love this EquiGroomer.

German shepherd relief and safer tool
Removes alot of hair with more effort than the furminator but it has smaller teeth so its safer. Both are great products. I start with this brush so the areas with less hair around the spine are protected better as the furminators long teeth can cause scratches and small cuts if not being mindful. After I am done with this brush and no longer getting much hair I go over the high shedding areas with the furminator such as the thigh, shoulder, and neck

Not just for horses!
My daughter started watching this YouTuber channel about grooming/bathing dogs and cats recently called “GirlWithTheDogs” and saw this brush being used by the groomer. Vanessa, the groomer, said that she loves using EquiGroomer for short haired cats. So my daughter suggested we get the brush for our short haired male cat, who is now shedding like CRAZY now that the weather has gotten warmer. I admit, I was skeptical because this brush was designed for the primary animal audience of horses. But a couple strokes from EquiGroomer and it gets loads more hair off our cat than a dozen strokes from an ordinary comb. It was so easy! It doesn’t hurt our cat and he really seems to enjoy the feel, as opposed to treating combs like chew toys and refused to sit still for combs too. The hair comes right off the brush, so cleaning it shouldn’t be an issue at all. If you have a short haired cat who has an excess amount of fur, definitely invest in EquiGroomer!

It Does Ok
Just ok. I won’t be mean. ð Some of the other methods I prefer better.

Great for rough coats/shedding
Love this! It’s like a kinder, gentler version of those round metal curries. The teeth aren’t super aggressive, but it catches the loose hair and slides it out. It has a nice solid feel in my hand, and the horses seem to enjoy the way it feels. Haven’t had it long enough to tackle a fullblown spring shed, but I have an older gelding dealing with some metabolic issues, and it works wonders on his rougher coat. It’s also effective at removing muddy, crusty patches after rain & roll sessions. The longest 8″ size is great for the horses, but I would probably go with one of the shorter sizes if I was just grooming the donkey or a pony/mini.

It works, but it can be painful
I like this because it does work. Samuel does experience pain at times with this brush. You must apply some pressure to make it work and sometimes it’s too much for him. We got the Kong zoom groom along side of this and the gloves and we use them all to help keep Sam’s coat shiny and help with shedding. He’s a 7 month old french bulldog and he sheds more than I thought he would. These tools have been helpful at reducing all the shedding. Once you get the routine down, it’s easy to use. You have to use short strokes applying firm pressure. It’s easy to keep clean and made with high quality steel and wood. This thing will last a lifetime, if taken care of properly.

Hay is for horses
This is a hacksaw blade in a wood handle. Literally. And thats fine for horses maybe, I donât have a horse. Four golden retriever & poodle mix.A GROK3 search for hacksaw blade in a wood handle tells all.If you need this itâs well made I suppose.I bought it because I thought it was a comb. It is not. It is a hacksaw blade in a wood handle.
