It actually works!
These little guys work really well! I run a small humidifier for my plants 24/7 and it usually gets pretty nasty a week or so after I clean it, so I have to clean it a lot. I tried one of these little fish guys and decided to really put it to the test. The humidifier remained on (not always actively emitting mist, but always on and full of water) and I left it for a month. I periodically peeked at it to make sure I wasnât breathing in any really disgusting mold or whatever, but didnât see any evidence of build-up like I did before I started using the fish. When one month was up, the humidifier was still incredibly clean. It had a small amount of gunk around the filter and spout areas but it was nothing compared to what it looked like before I started using the fish.These things really do work and mine held up for at least a month. I figured at that point that it was time to replace it so I did, but I honestly wonder if I couldâve gotten a bit more time out of the first one. Great value, and very effective. If youâre sick of cleaning a grimey humidifier, get yourself one of these things!

These Little Things Work Great With Evaporative Humidifiers – Plus They Are Cute
I have been using evaporative humidifiers for years and these really do help to keep your filters from growing mold or other gross stuff. I think they work sort of the way that charcoal works to keep water in a fish tank clean.First off I have seen people complaining because they can not get these in the tank of their steam/warm mist humidifiers…. You do not need to use this in any humidifier that works by heating water up to the point of steam because trust me. Boiling water does more to kill mold and bacteria, so save your money.I guess that you could use them in ultrasonic humidifiers but mostly these are good for using in with filters that utilize a wicking filter. These paper filters are notorious for collecting mold, so this is a great item for keeping these type of humidifiers clean.They are super easy to use and I find that they work for at least one season if not longer. So even though they can be a little pricey they do last way longer than your filters will.The little fish is super cute in my humidifier. Itâs designed to stay upright and the top portion floats while the bottom part stays in the water.All you have to do is put it in the water and it should keep working for quite some time. If your filters start getting dark or red stuff on it then itâs time to change to a new one.Thanks for reading my review.Becky Brooks

Mantiene limpio el tanque por ser un veneno que mata bacteria y mohos. He comprobado objetivamente (con un medidor de contaminación del aire) y subjetivamente (me arde la garganta si lo tenga cercas) que contamina al aire, lo cual invalida la idea de utilizar un humidificador para mejorar la calidad del aire.Mi humidificador es en frÃo, quizás con un humidificador de vapor el veneno no sale, eso no lo he comprobado.Sà queda limpio el tanque, en ese sentido cumple, por eso le doy dos estrellas.
